Concrete Retaining Wall

What would be the best method to clean this wall? I was thinking 3-4% SH? Wand or Turbo nozzle? Average price per square foot? I was thinking.50-65, its 8 feet high 170 feet long. I have a 8/3200 HW - PW. I’ve not done a concrete wall yet. Plenty of HW, concrete drives, sidewalks, etc. Submitting a bid in the next couple of days. Thanks!

I’d go 4% and turbo nozzle it. Other opinions may vary. No one can tell you what to charge. Put some thought into how long it will take you and charge what you’d like to make in that amount of time. Either split that amount up into ft or sqft…how ever you’d like to charge.

Thanks

How about a small surface cleaner? I couldn’t fathom 170’ of turbo.

Maneuvering a small surface cleaner would be much more labor intensive. Get a good size wand and turbo away… Same motion as washing a fence. Not much to it. 170ft is not that long. Have you ever washed a fence @dcbrock?

Ive thought about throwing my 20inch on a few small walls :joy::joy::joy: i haven’t did it in fear someone would post me on " pics of your most hysterical competitors"

Heck i would give @Firefighter4hire method a try on that wall. Doesnt look like you have to worry much about killed plants

I thought the same thing, try my 20” WW on it. :joy: I do have a 6’ lance and a turbo nozzle. Think white tip would work after treatment? The organic matter on there is real dry, came off with me rubbing it pretty easily. Anyways…

Unfortunately. It was a real PITA.

I also had the pleasure of using a turbo on a brick retaining wall and it was just like a trip to Disney World.

I’ve seen mention of others on here using one of those cheap throwaway surface cleaners on stuff like that. I guess they’re real light. I’ve considered trying one but having done so yet. You can get one for like $50. Let us know if you try it out. I’m with Max though. I’d just hit it with a turbo. I wouldn’t use a 6’ lance. The lighter the better. I’d rather get dirty than to hold a 6’ lance out. I’d probably use a 3’.

I bet if you went with a strong mix it would clean up pretty good just from that. If you’re not going to clean the driveway I’d worry about putting clean streaks on it though. If you do they might complain and you’ll end up having to eat that one.

Mosmatic makes a couple of different surface cleaners just for jobs like that. I’ve always wanted one. That one job would probably come close to paying for a good chunk of it.

Exactly what I was thinking. Definitely 'spensive though. I’d almost be willing to get a B&S and try it out.

Those Moso’s are running around 400-500.00 you think a Home Depot type that’s lighter and I could hook directly to my gun would work? I guess I could bring it back if it don’t.

Worth a shot. Some guys report the Briggs one to be workable. I had that Maxx SC when I first started but it’s too heavy for wall work.

This one? I thought about that with just a 3 foot lance?

Yeah, that’s it. Pretty heavy though being stainless steel.

I was thinking of this one.

I just looked at my engine hoist and pondered making my surface cleaner attach so I can roll it down the wall the adjust up and roll back. Lol

I definitely see the convenience of using one of those but wouldn’t it be a pain to do the bottom half of the wall with it? Literally a pain as in you’d be in pain from bending over so much lol

Hook up your 5-8gpm to a Home Depot surface cleaner and good luck keeping it on the ground. Those things are designed for 2-4gpm.
