Clothing Impervious to SH

They’re about 3 months old seeing part-time action. They’ve faded some but I love them. To me they still look black.

I ordered the Mountain Warehouse, too. I sent back the “khaki”. They were definitely olive.
I got a few black pair. They’ve held up ok. But I wouldn’t get them again. They can handle HW mix but that’s about it. And that’s pushing it. There has to be better pants out there.

I actually ordered a bunch of different ones from them to try them all. At some point I’ll do a run down.

But all the ones I ordered were all darker color shirts. So I contacted them in August and said that I needed the lightest, neutral color they had (like a tan or grey). They gave me an offsite link to a few more color options. I went with “gusty grey”. It’s been perfect. Holds up great. It’s all I’ve been wearing.

But that color only comes in the Port Authority Silk Touch Performance Polo. But it’s a great shirt and worth every penny.

How in the heck are you guys washing in pants in the summer? If I don’t have some ventilation for the boys I’m not a happy camper. The Saxx underwear work great but I don’t think I could do pants.

I went to shorts about a month too late. But I did go finally. Went with some khakis from Walmart that have held up well.

But it’s cold up here in Missouri. I’m back in black. I’m glad to be back.

Are you rocking the Saxx yet?

I had to google that. lol. No, not yet. Been wearing the same brand, same type for a few decades. lol.

I have dark grey (too hot), red, blue, and the teal color. Teal is the coolest, then red, then blue.

I have some BCG academy shirts but haven’t washed in them. Might not ever.

You need some man. You don’t realize how bad you need them yet but once you wear a pair and get soaked head to toe and dry out over the day you’ll understand.

I wear shorts most of the season. It gets cold here in IL. Last week we only had highs in low 50’s which means mid 30’s to low 40’s when starting the day off. Those tactical shorts and pants I wear dry out in no time so no big deal if I get the pants a little wet. I tried some different Wal-Mart shorts last year but none of them held up to the SH like the tac pants.

I like shorts with the heavy duty Frog Togg overpants when it gets a bit cooler.

Which specific long pants are you getting from 5.11?

Looks like I have CQR pants and 5.11 shorts. I thought I ordered some pants from 5.11 too but must
not have. I’ll check again a little later. The CQR pants are 65% polyester and 35% cotton. I have shorts from 5.11 that are also 65% poly and 35% cotton but also have a pair that’s 100% polyester. I haven’t worn them yet but they should be pretty much completely sh proof.

When I get a chance I’ll look through 5.11 trousers and see which ones have the highest polyester percentage. The CQR are pretty much the same type of clothing as 5.11. Even their khaki colors are about the same.

By far the most comfortable pants I’ve ever put on. They have a stretch insert that makes them feel like sweat pants, and I am amazed every time I take them out of the dryer. I search for those bleach stains and not seen one yet.

Is the embroidery included in the price? I looked but couldn’t find a price. If so, what a smokin’ deal! As for the wolverines, I bought a pair, walked a roof, and swore to return them. Before I did, I put an insert in them and now I’m a convert. I really like them a lot.

I paid $241 I think for 22 shirts embroidered.

What a freaking bargain! Looks like I have a new (for me) place to shop for clothes. I’ve been stuck with black because it’s all I’ve found that doesn’t get dirty and stay dirty (white) or bleach out. I think I’ll go there now. Well, not quite. I’m looking for the toughest HP hose. Tired of replacing them every 3-4 months. I bought the compression fittings that screw on the ends to fix the hoses, but a crappy hose doesn’t necessarily become a good hose just because I replace an end. I feel that I need to buy better hose.

@MrSparkleVA I bought a pair earlier this year (pretty sure based on your recommendation from quite awhile back) and never tried them until about a week ago.

You are right. They are amazing. They’re comfortable and hold up to SH extremely well. At least the black pair does. And they look more professional than the mountain warehouse pants I was wearing.

I’d love to find a khaki pair for the warmer days.
