I posted here previously about my buffer tank issue.
It was recommended that my 1 inch poly braid hose was flattened so I got a non collapseable one. In the picture above you can see the flow is very good when not connected to the pressure washer. But when it’s connected the pump just won’t pull water. Otherwise it pumps great when directly connected to the house.
Any ideas?
Post pics, and where did you get that non collpsible hose from?
Is your tank properly vented?
Can we see how your PWer is plumbed? Take a pic of the unloader please
Prime your pump: Take the pressure line off your pump and then force water into your pump inlet with a garden hose till water comes out pressure side. Reconnect everything and should be good.
Sounds like a pump problem at this point.
Amazon
Yes it is
Will do tomorrow
please send link if 1in I.D.
Drill a small hole in the top of the tank. The relief valve in the cap doesn’t always work right.
Try using with the cap off before drilling hole
…and drive off with the cap still sitting next to the tank. Ask me how I know.
I’ve lost at least 3 different tank lids over the last couple years. Usually from my ds tank after mixing in some soap. Finally decided to tether that one
None of my buffer tanks have lids. Most of my trucks are set up with air gap feeds into the top hole.

Belt drive or gear drive?

What motor and pump?

Where is the machine mounted compared to the buffer tank?
Have you tried the washer without the buffer? Run a hose directly from spigot to washer. Make sure it is pumping to start with. If I’m seeing correct your bypass is just a loop not set up to buffer. Don’t let it run long when not pulling trigger. Doesn’t take much to heat those pumps up.
Did you fill your buffer tank enough to push water to the outlet end of your 1” hose? It seems to be running along the floor and then does a 180 bend straight up at least a foot. If your pump is having to suck air to pull water uphill several feet it might take a couple of minutes for the water to reach the pump. Since you know the pump works with house pressure of probably 60psi then fill that tank up and kind of emulate that pressure until it primes. Make sure you crack open the supply fitting at the pump to bleed air out of supply hose before you start the motor. Once water starts flowing out of the crack, tighten it down and you have water sitting at the pump inlet. Crank it up and should prime within seconds. I’d also get rid of that garden hose fitting and just go brass 1/2” MPT/1” hose barb straight to pump inlet. Lose all that pvc
You are not going to have success until you plumb your pump correctly.
