Budget Build

I was going to do D rings at first but couldn’t find any that were what I felt were attached to the trailer well enough, those (ring) bolts go through the wood with nuts and fender washers on both sides and the nuts are nylon lock nuts. Straps are ordered just using this till I get the others in. And ball valve has been removed

See all that weight hanging off your pump ?

I had planned to powder coat it with a silver vein finish but I was a day late and a dollar short back then. At some point the bed is getting pulled for a media blast and fresh paint so I’ll do it then. I made them up many moons ago. They will also taddle real quick on somebody if they did a hard brake. That’s if I catch a truck coming in and I see any that slid off.

Is that preference or do you have reasoning behind it. There’s a reason fire trucks output starts with male because the nozzles are female.

Yes, does the unloader block mount down to the trailer? Or just distributes the weight?

About as heavy as a unloader

Well, don’t feel bad. My trailer layout is very simple but it’s not very efficient in terms of utilizing floorspace. Those little knickknacks go a long way in tidying things up. Regardless of how pretty they look.

Mounts anywhere you want. It takes the weight off the pump. All that weight hanging will snap it right off.

So basically you can remote mount the unloader. How would you go about plumbing this? 3/8 hose and hose barbs?

Does everyone run male starting for a reason or is that just preference? My main reason with doing it this way is my ds injector is male to male and the 3/8 female had female threads whereas my male had male threads

Eh, I’d say it’s about 50/50. My whip line ends in a male and connects to my DSI that is female on both ends and that connects to my hose reel. I’m not sure there is really a “right” way to do that but I can understand why some folks feel it is best to have male ends leading. They are usually much cheaper and for hoses being drug across concrete the female fittings will take a beating. Maybe @Innocentbystander can give a better reasoning but that’s why I assume most people lead with male.

Yeah, you’re gonna have to change your username. There’s only room around here for one hotshot.

Or, I suggest a wash off.

@Hotshot you up for the challenge? Also, are you getting pelted with rain yet?

No hose barbs. Anything with pressure has to be high pressure hose and either quick connects or just plain old fittings. Make sure the fittings used are high pressure. Hydraulic fittings are perfect.

Yep, high pressure/hydraulic hose from pump outlet to unloader block and unloader and then the same going out for your whip line to the reel.

:joy::joy::joy::joy: a wash off! In reality I’m not too far from Either of you. I work as a firefighter in south west Arkansas and live in north east Texas. And thanks everyone for steering me in the right direction, it’s very appreciated!

It was explained to me by @Innocentbystander (cough cough) that the male leads so it won’t jam with grass and dirt as you roll the hose back on the reel.

It’s either wash off or tou change your username. Totally up to you. You have 24 hours.

I believe leading with male also prevents blowing o-rings.

Has he really gotten that deep under your skin? I’m pretty sure he thinks I’m a dumb, opinionated loudmouth that has no clue what I’m talking about but I just roll on and pretend like he likes me. Or at least tolerates me.
