Bleach/chlorine additive that freshens the smell?

@PiscesPressureClean Im sure someone probably answered you already considering all the replies. But head on over the PressureTek and check their stuff out, Elemonator does pretty well for me with covering up the bleach scent

I just tried the free sample from Horizon Aromatics today…1 oz in a 5 gallon house wash mix. I was pretty amazed…no bleach smell…smelled like an apple glade plug-in everywhere. So I contacted them asking the cost. For 10lbs…which they say is just over a gallon it’s $126/ gallon + $24 shipping + 2.5% credit card fee…so over $150/gallon. I don’t need it that much…lol. And I thought EBC was expensive.

So one gallon is 128 ounces, which means if you use 5 gallons of mix per house, which requires 1 ounce of fragrance, then that’s about 1 dollar per house, not bad.

I figured that cost out…she said pressure washers are buying this for neighborhoods that the houses are close together. I’ve only had one neighbor complain about bleach smell but also commented how good the house looked…uh yah…because it works…lol. It might not be a bad idea to have on the trailer but I look at it as more of a luxury. My wife asked if this would make me stand out compared to other pressure washers…good question

You do have to stir it quite often as mentioned earlier. I noticed when I’d come back to the trailer to shut my chemical off that it was like congealed bubbles in the bucket…stir it and it’s ok. I wouldn’t want to put this stuff in a chem tank with how often you have to stir

Mix into a bit of water first, easier to disperse into SH then.

So it’s more effective than Elomonator?

I would say yes…but that’s just my personal opinion. It could be that it was a new smell because I’m used to Elemonator. But the apple smell was very strong. Just not sure if it’s really needed. You can get free samples from them and try it yourself to see

By a long shot. I was using a pretty hot mix Monday, and my wife stopped by the job site to have lunch with me. She’s usually very sensitive to the bleach smell. She said she barely noticed it. And then had asthma attacks all afternoon :grimacing::cry:. So she got more exposure than she realized.

So I guess it’s a two edged sword. Hopefully my wearing a mask while spraying will be enough of a deterrant to most people, so they don’t linger and have the same problem my wife did of over-exposure.

Only one person asked if I was using bleach - and that was before I had really gotten the scent additive mixed in completely. And there must’ve been a hundred + people that walked by while I was working.

Use both.

Yeah, these additives should not be confused with surfactant. They’re in addition to whatever soap you’re using.

“She got more exposure than she thought.” That’s the reason my wife was saying I shouldn’t use it. The smell of SH keeps people away . When I was using the masking agent she said people were taking no notice to what was going on and at some point someone is going to get hurt . I agreed.
