Bleach/chlorine additive that freshens the smell?

Greetings everyone…

I’m sure alotta guys on here have their own personal chemical mix when it come to house/roof washing. Without giving too many details, can anyone recommend an additive to a bleach/chlorine base mix that greatly freshens the smell or at least cuts down on it.

I’ve been messing around with different mixes for about a week but nothing that has been pleasant to the nose. I actually had a customer complain about the smell today after applying it to some heavy mold on their front patio. Gave me the incentive to go back to the drawing board.

Thanks in advance

Have a job on a white vinyl fence. It is carotted in pollen, green fungus. Would you use bleach? If so what would be the dillution, or could I just use water.

Yessir SH & surfactant will do the trick. Are you downstreaming? I tend to start weak & adjust if needed. I’d personally start with a 50/50 mix of h2o & 12.5% SH with 5 ounces or so of elemonator but I run a 10:1 DS injector

Lots of bleach stable surfactants. HOWEVER, even in those formulas that are designed to reduce the SH smell please keep in mind that we, as formulators, never get over 1%, and are usually around the 0.2% range. Fragrances are SUPER DUPER concentrated. If you are going with a pure fragrance think DROPS, not bottles.

Hey I’m not sure if you’re familiar with the fragrances of Horizon Aromatics but they sent me a free sample of their Apple fragrance that is SH stable…maybe a 4oz bottle. There’s no directions on how to mix it. How much do you think I should add to a 5 gallon house wash mix? I know you’re the scientist on this site

I orders 1 gallon of florachem floramask several years ago. Green apple scent . It worked pretty good so I ordered 5 gallons of it . Within 1 hour of adding some to 400 gallons of mix . Everything in the tanks turned brown and had a funny smell but more importantly it KILLED the mix I mean useless. I haven’t touched it since it’s still in my garage. Almost $400 for the 5 gallons and $200 worth of SH not to mention trying to figure out we’re to dump the 400 gallons of crap in my tank.

Pure fragrance is usually used at 0.2% in the formula. So 38 grams per 5 gallons, I.e. 2 POINT 5 (the decimal wasn’t showing up well) tablespoons

P.S. if it’s a crap fragrance you will need more, but start there. It might make your wash cloudy. If so that means there isn’t enough surfactant to get the oil into solution, it won’t work well.

The first gallon I got worked fine . It was the second time I bought it that I had problems. But that wasn’t the point. The point was it’s unreliable and wasn’t worth the risk just to hide the smell. I clean 55and up communities every day with on 1 out of 1000 complain out the smell. Typically some vegan tree hugger complaining about the use of any chemical more the the smell. I actually don’t mind the fact that it smells like chemical I help keep people at a distance. Instead of trying to talk to me all day

Did you call that fragrance company to at least try and get a refund? You might have to eat the SH cost but they should do something for you. That sucks. I figured I’d try it for a house wash since it was a free sample

I cant wven smell SH anymore… i use eLemonator cause that what everybody says to use.

Edit: i do use Dawn for driveways to help with grease bexuase @squidskc said there isnt a better option on the market.
