Word of mouth works best for us, do excellent work, be fair with pricing, and the work keeps coming.

Repeat customers, word of mouth, and the google map listing. All about equal.

@squidskc do you have a brick and mortar shop or are you listing your home on Google maps?

Google my business. It’s free and gets tons of calls if you do it right.

Google maps and a high number of reviews. Google ads has been decent. Word of mouth and referrals are #1. Still chasing reoccurring business. Only 4 accounts after 2yrs.

Moved out of my shop in January of this year. Saves $20k a year and the still getting the same amount of business. I just use a home address.

Awesome, wasn’t sure if you had to have a "Business " address.

Google doesn’t even verify that you’re a legit business with an EIN. I wish they would. All you need to do is receive a piece of mail with a confirmation code. I think they should do better. It would cut down on the clutter.

GMB is pretty good, good leads too… The only issue is that it covers a very small area… Maybe like a 3 mile radius from my location… Thinking of opening another account for a near by city for more exposure

My website gets me most of my business. Everyone Google’s everything. If you don’t have a website than you are losing business (with proper seo).

I believe gmb is making changes to that in 2020 where you can’t do that

Most big guys in SC use a UPS business box.

Thats my problem i have a lady going to work on mine after i buy new equipment for next year.

You can get a lot of seo work done yourself if you have time to read and watch Youtube videos. I did all mine but I’m not in a saturated market. If your in an urban area you may need to hire someone.

@LiveOakPW update posts regularly, use good quality pictures, and don’t try to game the system with google, you’ll lose. Kinda sucks right now gmb is not operating fully due to covid but hopefully that ends soon. It’s pretty easy to do just fill out all the info and check it often.

Thank you sir! I swore off social media completely and looking for alternative online marketing when I found GMB. Looking forward to testing it out.

I would advise everyone to not shy away from social media ads, e.g. Facebook ads. I have a client right now who gets about 20 leads/month on a $10/day budget, and he hasn’t even updated the ad as often as I’ve advised. He gets maybe 5 more leads/month by side effect – people who see their friends asking for quotes and decide to inquire also. He closes roughly 1 out of 3 leads, so it’s a worthwhile way to advertise. And he can utilize video in his ads.

Before I ramble, I’ll just say that social media ads are how you can seek out customers. (Whereas Google is how they seek you.) I recommend both methods in tandem.
