Best value high pressure hose?

that is 100% so true. I’ve got the Kevlar all terrain, and the Kevlar is a joke. No grip either… I’m afraid they’re not even load range e. Better than continental tho.

The set that came on my new truck were worn at 25,000 miles. The best tires I’ve ever owned were Cooper Discoverer AT3’s. Excellent tires.

For me, best tire is yokohama geolandar, extremely gripping, even down passed the wearbars, grippy. Id do the allseason tread but Id get stuck near the dunes if I did when beachcruising.

Cooper makes great tires. I got 70k out of the stt pro but they howl like a WW2 bomber

I bet. The STT Pro is a bit more aggressive than the AT3 lol

This is true but 70k on a mud tire is pretty good. Im running the stt maxx now. They ride great, don’t howl, and are a great rough terrain tire. Id definitely recommend them the anyone who occasionally finds themselves doing stupid things and need a way out. They pull like crazy.

I have been having good luck with Suttner hose. Get it off ebay with free shipping

This is good info but old, hey, it’s 2024 now. So, whats the lowdown on high pressure hoses you’re getting the best service from? I’m looking at Suttner single wire on Pressure Tek right now. Any good info on new hose?
Run 8gpm machines 3500 psi+/-

The blue ones outlast the gray ones by double but the HPC 4000 outlasts them both by a long shot. I still have 2 from 2021 all sun bleached and dry rotted I’m about to retire but they’re still putting up the good fight.

Thanks for the quick response. I was actually looking at the HPC as well, good to know you have seen better life out of them. Can you get 200’ sections of any of these? I’m only finding 100’.
Thanks

Not sure. I don’t run through the reel & only run 50’s linked together. I still run blue Suttners so I have a swivel and a different color section every 50 feet. Some folks link 100’s together. To be fair my old HPC hoses haven’t seen as much use since they are at the end of the reel (#4 & #5) but closest to the gun they still held up extremely well. The hose closest to the gun is the next one to pop most of the time.

Pretty tough to beat Suttner hoses for the money. You can typically find them online with free shipping too. Now, their two wire I have no idea as to the quality but the single wire is pretty solid stuff.

HPC hoses - for $25ish extra per 100’, is there any meaningful reason to not go with the 6000psi hoses?

HPC 4000 PSI - Gray

HPC 6000 PSI - Gray

The 6000 is two wire hose. Great for hot water but plenty of guys run single wire for hot water due to the fact that it’s significantly lighter and much easier to manage.

Running off a 3000psi cold water machine, would the 6000psi offer any greater longevity over the 4000psi?

Nope. Really only advantageous if you’re running heat. It’s much heavier than single wire and more cumbersome when stringing hoses around corners and whatnot while washing houses.

I’ve considered putting a 2 wire 3 foot whip right off the gun. Had one blow right next to my wrist as soon as I opened the ball valve last year & it did not feel good. Could’ve been worse.

Thank you. That has answered more than 1 question for me. :+1:

I’d also like to ask, since we’re here and on topic:

What’s your, and anybody else’s, thoughts on the Suttner vs HPC vs PressurePro hoses?

We have @TheWizard 's thoughts on the Suttner and HPC, and your comments about Suttner. What’s everybody think about the 3 brands mentioned and their current status/ranking against each other? I know that some of it is just preference and experience, but I’m wondering how much of a consensus there may be.

From searching earlier, it appears that Goodyear is now called Neptune:

Neptune Pressure Washer Hose

I’m not sure about any other GY high pressure hoses. “Neptune” still a top notch product?

I’ve come across a small handful of people who swear by PressurePro hoses as the best.

I’ve opened up shop legally, and am getting it together to start buying equipment, so I’m not asking “just cuz”. I’ll be finalizing these decisions within the next few days or a week. :+1:

Been a long time since I’ve run anything other than Suttner so I really couldn’t give you an honest opinion on hoses made today. Goodyear used to be quality hose but who knows nowadays. Bunch of guys were flocking to The Hose Company or some such BS for a while and last I heard they were all victims of the old bait and switch where they had a quality product to begin with and as sales rose they tanked the quality. Who knows.

All I know is that the Suttner hoses have served me well for years now and I replace hoses yearly regardless of condition because I don’t like down time on a job. If the old hoses are still in decent enough shape they get tucked away as spares.
