Average 2 Story Roof Wash: No Ladder?

Is the consensus still aluminum over fiberglass?

I need to buy a new 32’.

You better start eating some Wheaties if you intend to sling around a fiberglass 32’ by yourself, amigo. That sucker is HEAVY.

So here’s what I’ve found. This is without leveling legs or any extras.

Werner - 32’
Aluminum

Type I - 63.5 lbs
Type IA - 67 lbs
Type IAA - 74 lbs
Type II - 54 lbs

Fiberglass
Type I - NA
Type IA - 71.5 lbs
Type IAA - 82 lbs

So it’s 4-8 lbs more depending on Type. Do you think it makes that much of a difference?

It seems like Type II would be just fine for me and keep me at 54 lbs.

I had a 32’ fiberglass type 1A with a 300lb rating and sold it to buy a 32’ type 1 with a 250lb rating. If I remember correctly it was a 12 or so pounds lighter. I’m sure the rating difference is where the weight discrepancy comes from but even 4-8 pounds spread out over such a long area is noticeable.

I don’t see a type 2 32 footer in fiberglass in that link. Do they make a glass type 2 in that length?

ETA: Oops, nevermind. Just saw they don’t list a type 2 in that. Looks like 1A would be closest and the difference between a 1A glass and a type 2 tin would be around 17lbs. That’s too much to justify for me. If you’re super concerned about conductivity then by all means go glass.

Makes sense. I’m thinking Type I or Type II aluminum.

Did you add stabilizer legs to it?

I need to get some leveling feet but I do use one of these for a bit more stability.
