Anyone wearing a mask but still ending the day with discomfort

I smoke. I have “athlete’s” asthma. I have horrible allergies. I wear these when downstreaming:

And these if I’m doing a roof or stucco or anything that requires a stronger mix:

Speaking of respirators lol

I’ve been painting the upstairs with the airless grayco. Guess I should practice what I preach!

You look like a Colombian drug lord who just got done at a bachelor party…and I mean that in the best way possible. Lol

Quite possible. There’s no accounting for the way people react to chemicals. Some people experience shortness of breath when I walk into a room wearing my favorite cologne. I used to think it was my sexiness, but alas, it was my Old Spice that I get in a 5 gallon dispenser for $6.99 at Dollar General.

Ok, I’m gonna bow out here. I had a crazy battle with that stuff in the 80’s and don’t wanna re-live that!

If I recall correctly, you take in small bits of air into your ears when you breathe due to suction. I dont believe it goes anywhere tho. This could be the reason.

The face behind the name!

Who me?

Yessir.

Tons of videos and pictures of me around here lol.

Does the mask your wearing allow you to take deep, full breaths? Do you have asthma or any other related conditions? Do you normally breathe with your nose, and then breathe with your mouth using the mask? I found that a mask that allows me to breathe with my nose works WAY better for me. My old mask caused the same problems - because I was breathing for an hour or longer with just my mouth.

I hate sucking air thru wet masks or respirators.
I paid the $$ and got a draeger air fed battery operated mask/helmet.
No sucking just cool air circulates through the helmet which is sometimes cooler than not wearing it.
I use it when paint or chlorine fumes are an issue .
I also wear it when I’m sanding or grinding and making a lot of dust- one of the best things I have bought and wish I did it years ago.

Do you feel it was worth the extra $$ @AUSSIE ? We polish aluminum and stainless metals with grinders in the shop during the winter months, so a resperator is essential for me a my guys. We wear masks ,but looking for something a little better.

You’d love the supplied air. We sometimes have to use them when welding stainless. I’m sure the hood is similar to the respirator since it’s basically the same thing just with a lens. The cool air is amazing when it’s hot and humid out.

Thank you Mr Brian @marinegrunt. Very helpful

Definitely worth having a look at @Hotshot, I was sceptical of fogging until I put it on at the Draeger shop and did a run around the block.
