8.5 Hydromax Build

I love the idea of PVC internals especially for the softwash reel. I’ll give them a call :+1:

Only problem I found is the 3 way valve over the proportioner isn’t sealed completely when it’s one direction. It lets the other side in. Going to have to order another one and try a different brand maybe

For the guys who the link doesn’t work for

I didn’t watch the video…Is it a Banjo valve?

Yes. This one

It might be a bad seal, I’ll open it up in the morning and take a look

Did you ever wind up using the proportioner for your downstream? Awesome build looking for ideas for my new build this winter
Thanks!!
Dan

I did not. Easier to have another tank and batch mix. Some think it’s over kill but it also serves as a backup tank if I run out of sh on a job, I can just pump over into the other tank. Also serves for balancing

Great build! Very nice work.

These 3 way valves have viton seals. They work great. I linked the 3/4" but they have different sizes.

If this valve is bad then this was the one I was going to get lol

Bad 3 way valve, ordered the 3 way with viton seals. I’m also going to raise the valve by 3 inches because it was a pain to remove with the clearance issues lol.

I received the three-way valve, the size is 40% smaller which I don’t mind at all! Got it hooked up and plumbed in. No leaks so good to go. Handle is also much easier to turn. Also had a spare J Rod laying around so I went ahead and made a residential cleaning rod which has a shooter tip, my M5 twist, and a 0020 nozzle for the crud on those really high gutters that soft washing won’t knock off. Plugged the coupler next to the M5 to save the threads plus I don’t need it. I may put a wood cleaning tip in that spot but we’ll see. The spray may be too close to the M5 body to do it

Well the time came to pull it out for it’s first test run on the road! It snowed some in KCMO but roads were great. Delivered it to a buddy’s shop 30 minutes away so he could get brakes on the trailer for me and weld some odd and ends like the kohler exhaust and removing the unused jack on the tongue. Once he does that I can get my tongue box bolted down for extra storage.

She pulled like a beaut! Smooth and balanced even at 60 mph. I’m going to throw in some of those anti-slosh balls to help stop the water from sloshing around in the tank as it was pretty noticeable when a accelerating from a stop. But very happy with it :+1: everything held down tight
