5x8 Build in progress

Hello all,

I wanted to share the start off my 5x8 enclosed trailer build, please share any ideas, point out anything i can change to improve this build. I just received my machine and have my buffer tank. Trying to figure out which way to place tank to save space and avoid using elbows or tees. Also still waiting on few more supplies to tie everything together. I also want to give thanks to all the poeple who share their knowledge on here i have learned so much about the industry just using the search bar and reading. Thank you

This is my 5x8 3500 lb single axle

My girls helpping with the taping for the Herculiner

I purchased trailer last yr 2019 to look more professional when i pulled up to customers houses. I had a big box 3.5 gpm that i purchased before i knew what was the proper equipment. I would have to load everything in and out of my truck which i know alot off guys have done before untill i saved up for this lil guy here… here she is loaded up ready to go make me slow money cause house washes take longer with 3.5 gpm. All this is what i would load up in the morning, unload to start a job load backk up to the truck get back home n unload once again…

Now today i cleared everything out placed my new machine and tank to start the lay out.

5.5 gpm 2500 psi 100 gallon buffer tank. I am only attacking residential cleaning.

Not sure if i should put tank this way

Or

Thanks for any feed back and i will keep you guys posted as i go on getting ready for the season.

That trailer is looking sweet, cant wait to see his done too

That buffer tank to me seems a little big for a 5.5 gallon.

Mine is a tab bit bigger, but a few more things going in it so probably evens out. I need to try and post a few updated pics.

@Cleanandshiny best advice I can give is draw it out on paper and then make some cardboard templates and move things around before you actually start bolting things down. I took way longer than I probably should have doing that but it paid off.

100 gallon. It is big now that i put it in there it took alot off space. I was going to go with 65 gallon but it cost more then the 100 gallon from local guy. I found this one on northern tools online cheaper i didnt think it was that much bigger then the 65 gallon

I did see how you did the cut outs and drawing everything out. The machine and tank are going to stay there and now i am going to draw out the plumbing and reels position also . I agree with you too i will draw it out cause once i start drilling no turning back

The price difference is at the Convenience of having more room witch I guess is worth it on a trailer this size. Is your trailer actually built at an angle up front or is it an actual box type I can’t see from the outside. Reason I ask is it looks square in the photos but you have 2 sheets of wood coming at an angle on the inside. Maybe rip those out for more room if it’s a box construction.

What all are you planning to put in there?

Its a v-nose trailer, and the tank it is big i might not keep it if i cant make it work space wise

After the hose reels and surface cleaner etc, you’ll be out of space. Definetly look at 60 gallon for sure

5.5 gpm
100 gallon tank
12v fatboy
55 gallon drum
Supply hose reel
Pressure reel
Softwash reel
16 in surface cleaner
Some crates for chems
A shelf at the front of the v

I’m not an advocate for downsizing on pump volume but if you have a lot invested in the trailer might be a wise choice to go down to 4gpm gear driven unit and get rid of the buffer tank completely.

There has been 1 time my 55 gal tank started to lose the in/out race and that was a big concrete job w/ SC non stop.

I really think a 35 gal tank would be plenty for the 5.5.

If that tank doesnt work out size wise, just get a 55 gal drum and itll save space.

I really dont want to go down to 4 i think i will just get the 60 gallon … i had a 3.5 gpm before this and i really want to stick with atleast 5.5 gpm

Im going to go get some 55 gallon drums this week from this guy off let go app

Its all you will need… even with the 12v i imagine be fine.

Strap it against the wall and done. You will have twice the money in plumbing than the tank.

5.5 is an ideal size, but Thers a lot your trying to squeeze into this thing. You need to think Maintenance as well being an enclosed trailer. You don’t really want to be pulling everything out should repairs to something be needed. It will happen more than you think, always does when it’s permanently mounted I’ve found lol.
