4-Story Vinyl Siding with Balconies

Do you only use private hydrants or are you allowed to use city hydrants? If so, how would that be regulated and how would they charge you?

I only have a few properties that have private hydrants. Each city is different. In Raleigh, NC and the towns it provides water to, I simply pay $2k a year for a hydrant meter(which I keep in my possession) and call in monthly meter readings. $3 per 1000 gallons. Other towns you have to call in advance and they set their own meters on the hydrants you request. They charge the same amount per 1000 gallons but charge a daily rental fee. Some towns don’t charge for water at all or require meters but you pay 3 or 4 hundred a year for a sticker to put on your trucks to show that you are using an air gap above the tank. Some require you to provide your own meter and then you just pay for the water. Sounds like a lot of headache but AI do the same properties year in and year out so I know what each city in each state requires. Advantage is never waiting on water or dealing with properties with non functioning water faucets or faucets that leak into apartments. Lot of newer properties do not have faucets on them at all.

Great answer, thanks.

I know, right lol. Can’t drive across the parking lot on that truck without ding ding ding.

Ford? What year. It’s easy to disable the ding…first thing I do when I buy a truck.

I don’t remember what year that one is. It’s the last one i haven’t disconnected or cut the key off in the switch. Ail the guys have truck keys but i cut the head off of a key and stick it in rhe switch so i don’t have to look for a key or take them out of my pockets.

618Pressure, yes that is a good amount of time, but from his post it sounded like he will be cleaning it alone and also he hasn’t washed many multi-unit buildings. Breezeways especially for a newbie takes a little time to get the flow. I can’t imagine having hundreds if not thousands of feet of water hose crisscrossed across the parking lots trying to reach hydrants on a consistent basis.

I can’t inagine thousands of feet of garden hoses stretched across a parking lot either. Tim, once you have started doing this for a living and gain some experience you’ll be amazed at how much quicker and effecient you can be. Hand in there buddy. You’ll get there.

Must be an older truck or really new and they have changed the system…my 2007 Ford will not run with the head cut off the key…the chip required for the electronics is located in the head of the key…

O4’s and 05’s

Lol in your dreams man. You must be a time management guru washing entire multi unit complexes all across the country using fire hydrants to fill your 65 gallon water tank all the while down streaming 400 gallons with your left hand and posting to the boards with your right.

You seem cranky tim. Sometimes when I’m hungry I get cranky.hater_tots

Page, y’all don’t cobweb dust the buildings?

Not even sure what that means.

use a duster on a pole to remove cobwebs/spider webs from the soffits and windows

We have some breezeways with sheetrock ceilings that we have to do that to but we charge extra in hopes that they get maintenance to do it instead.
