Yard signs, opinions please

Which yard sign would you choose and would you do anything different?

Like the left one. Numbers are a bit busy.

How many area codes are in your service area? Would people recognize the number ok if you dropped the area code, or made it much smaller? That’s how I did it on my yard signs

There used to be one up until last year now 2. Would you still make it smaller?

I like the one on the right. I’d change “pressure washing” for whatever service you’d like to do the most work in i.e. “house washing” You are more likely to grab peoples attention with a specific service versus the broad “pressure washing”

That’s interesting we put out 300 yard signs a few years back said HOUSEWASH and a phone number. Most of the calls I got were asking if we do other services. I seen that as a mistake for putting HOUSEWASH instead of PRESSURE WASHING. I looked at it like this . How many people wondered the same thing and never called to find out and how many people assumed that’s all we do . Either way I felt like I made a mistake

I would stick with Pressure washing endless you feel you have a specialty service you want to advertise

It would be interesting to know how many calls you would have gotten with the “pressure washing” signs vs the “house wash” signs. To me a homeowner seeing “house wash” gets them thinking more than just seeing “pressure washing”, but I haven’t done any research into that.

I’d be interested to hear what others experiences were with different wording. I honestly was going back and forth between pressure washing and house washing. Maybe I will do half and half and see what gets more response.

I only did it once. Did not get many calls. Majority of call were complaints about putting up the signs. Nothing about it made me want to do it again

Just an idea, ditch the logo and add a website

Marketing split tests make my heart happy. Lol. +1 Up bonus, put the Pressure Washing signs out and note the locations. When someone calls ask where they saw it. Put the House Washing signs in the same locations. Record how many calls you get.

Totally agree. If you’re deadset on having your logo on it, move it to the top center. Most folks won’t even see it no matter where you put it. It’s wasted real estate IMO.

I prefer House Washing because it makes more money than driveways and I don’t wash decks or fences. I wouldn’t wash driveways or flatwork at all if it wasn’t so easy… It’s just so boring. Lol

The one on the right I’d say is perfect, simple, modern font, and has your logo which cultivates future brand recognition

BI like the first one…looks cleaner. By the way, I lived in Mechancisburg, PA for years. I had a (717) 766 number as well. Grew up in Hershey. My family still lives up there and I brought my small 3gpm pressure washer up there last month during that heat wave and soft-washed a few family members houses. You can make good money up there in pressure washing. I live in Charlotte, NC now.

Thanks for your feedback. I love this area. It is growing quickly though. I believe the last farm in the area just sold for a development project so there are no large tracts of land available in Mechanicsburg for development.

I was leaning more towards house washing as well because I have no interest in decks or fences unless they are vinyl. I think I will try both and see what the outcome is. I will be sure to share the results.
