Xjet M5 ratio

Hello,

I recently purchased an Xjet M5. I have a 3gpm. I’m going to clean my driveway tomorrow and I read and seen videos people stating that 3% should be the mix for concrete. I can only get 10% SH. My question is in my 5 gal bucket should I do straight 10% SH with a black proportioner which is 4-1. Math is not my forte, 10/4=2.5% hitting the concrete?

Ratios are funny. You gotta count both sides of the ratio to get the total parts, then divide by total parts to get your percentage.

4:1 = 5 parts (4 parts water, 1 part bleach). 10%/5=2%

But in reality, the ratios given are just guesses, and often wildly optimistic. Only way to find out for sure is to do some measured/timed trials.

Thanks for the information. Top get a higher SH percentage would it be ideal to switch to a grey 2/1 proportional?

Ok wait, are you trying to clean a driveway JUST with an xjet and rinse?

No, I have a surface cleaner as well. I just want to figure out the % ratio

You’re not gonna get 2:1 ratio from an Xjet. You’ll probably get about 3% tops, if you’re lucky.

Ok, well should I not use any proportionals with the Xjet and go straight 10% SH? Bit confused over here since I thought those proportionals where meant to give higher ratios.

i don’t use any proportioner tip when doing concrete with 7gpm it will put out around 4-5% with straight 12.5%
