X jet sand blast?

Has anyone ever tried to sandblast with an x jet?

What are you trying to blast?

Trailer rims

Can’t suck sand thru plastic xjet.
You need a metal sand blasting attachment

If you get one let us know how it works. The reviews I read about a month ago weren’t promising, but I want it for use at home… it’s been on my “buy and try” list.

Wouldn’t add it to the business offerings, but would like to tinker.

This one has better reviews. The Mi-T-M one not so much.

No way!
Fun for a a bit of diy, same with those Venturi water pumps.

Go play with a media blaster or a dry ice gun if you want to strip stuff fast!

I’d love to try media blasting. But I’m somewhat of a lazy tinkerer. I wanted to try Powdercoating Yeti tumblers because the Powdercoating kit is a mere $70 and found out you gotta have a dedicated Powdercoating oven. Not that interested anymore.

I’d give this a shot because I’m not running out of pressure washers.

If you powdercoat a yeti. Please do it in bright yellow.

Then I might actually see be able to see something in those grainy documentaries!

Why are you using yeti?

My wife and I have 4 or 5 of these. 8oz for drinking cups at home and for her morning coffee. 20 oz for large coffee. 30oz for ice cold water all day. And we have them in stainless and powder coated colors. I think the most expensive one walmart has is like $13 or something lol.

Look on youtube. I’m pretty sure the ozark tumblers come off the same manufacturing line as the yeti ones do.

My wife left her 30oz powder coated one on the roof the other day and drove off and realized it after it fell off on the pavement. Just a tiny dent in the side. You can’t even hardly tell it was dropped. Not a chip in the powder coat at all or anything.

I have one Yeti I was given as a gift. The others are Mossy Oak knock offs also from Wal-Mart. I don’t spend money on stuff like that. Lol

That’s really nice gift then lol.

I have been dura coating guns and cups. I have a small bench top blasting cabinet in my garage. Dura coat air cures. The the reason I started using it rather than cera coat

I would like to bring this thread back. Has anyone tried one of these General Pump wet sandblasting kits? How did it do?
Wet sandblasting has become a little more well known and more popular. I was thinking about trying one out. The general pump brand offers multiple tip sizes, for different media sizes I assume. But, I can’t find any tip size chart or any additional information, even from general pump.

The kit works good but you need the heavy duty version. Dont mess around with anything but sand blast media ibget mine from tractor supply it’s the black diamond brand. If you try it the other way with okay sand which I’m telling you not to do you will get a rock stuck in it and it’s a PIA to get it out. I know because I did it.

That’s what I use in my cabinet most of the time. I usually use he 30/60 which I believe is the fine grit. It seems to blast just as well as the medium but it doesn’t last as long. I guess longevity doesn’t really matter with a water blaster though. I use regular play sand with I’m using my blasting pot outside and can’t recover the media because it cheaper. You definitely have to sift it though for the exact reason you mentioned. It doesn’t take much to clog them with little rocks. If I was blasting for income I wouldn’t even waste my time sifting play sand and just use the black diamond. I ordered a knock off version of the water blaster last summer but haven’t got around to trying it. I’m anxious to see what it can do. I bet it’s awesome blasting without dust.

I did my truck frame with it. And I have run some nut shells to remove some graffiti it worked ok. Dont believe the guy who does it for a living it makes a mess. Not so bad on concrete you can rinse that off but it you do it in a gravel parking lot it makes a mess.

Thanks. I have a few projects in mind, but I figured it would still leave sand everywhere. There’s no way around that I suppose. Does anybody have information about tip size for a 4gpm pressure washer. I guess media sizes matters too?

You dont put a tip in it. It is it’s own tip
