I use an X-Jet on a 4k psi / 4 gpm direct drive to clean the green and such from homes here in Northerly GA. I used to rent but now have a new rig in shipment.
I have only known one kind of house wash but its getting kind of pricy and want to hear what some of you guys use, rather it be your own mix or a purchased one. I want to refrain from mentioning the mix I use and see what comes up here and keep bias out of it.
Well if your mix is expensive it probably won’t be mentioned here and lose the xjet and start researching down streaming you’ll feel like your coming out of the stone ages. I’ll let someone else give you the down low on mix.
Yes, I am in the stone ages I admit.
Old habits are hard to break and the time and expense in experimenting with the new has me balking. I am pretty proficient with my prehistoric setup. No-doubt things would be better but I’ll have to experiment in the off season. My head has been in the sand.
My X-Jet is an M5 Variable, I have a lightweight hose going to it with a little petcock type shut off and a little anti-drain back check-ball in the line withing easy reach.
I really like how I can reach the chimneys on two story homes. I can see down streaming in my future.
My mix is Sunbrite’s Supply Power Wash. I have to have it shipped 5 gallons at a time. I can’t get it off my mind there has to be some way to go easier on my over head.
I guess I am a glutton for punishment. I keep coming here asking for info and keep getting other than I asked for. Lots of perky little witty statements but nothing on the subject matter I asked for.
Once bitten twice shy. I asked about chemicals and get hammered for my equipment.
No reason to take it personally- I doubt anyone here thinks less of you because you are comfortable with your current setup. I’ve yet to get into the powerwashing game myself, and when I do, it will most likely be with rented equipment and a less than optimal setup. But the guys on here have been super helpful, and not in the least demeaning about my humble beginnings.
The thing to remember about people on industry forums, is that most of them are serious business owners, and are here seeking ways to improve their methods, as well as give a helping hand to others. So when we read from someone who doesn’t appear to be as serious, there’s a tendency to try and ‘enlighten’ them to a better way of doing things. Taken in this context, I think its easier to take people’s responses less personally.
If it was more options you were looking for, just check pressuretek.com or one of the other suppliers mentioned here. Read up and see which one(s) you’d like to try. But eLominator sounds like a great choice, and probably what I’ll be ordering soon.
