I would assume majority of the budget went on the sheriffs gun handling lessons lol.

Here’s a small project I plan on doing. Also plan on building a 4 or 6 post ladder rack for the trailer and I might paint my truck. I’m sure other projects will pop up. Especially if my wife thinks I have some free time…lol

Two winter projects here. No pictures yet, but I’m sure they will come. Tons of upgrades to my work truck. Extending the frame to make room for a 10 foot steel flatbed. Switching from a 275 gallon IBC tote on the back to a 300 gallon leg tank. Adding airbag suspension to the rear. Very excited to use it next year.

The other project is restoring a 1990 Ford F-Superduty, which is a giant truck I plan on driving to let everyone know how big of a man I am and how small my hands are.

Plan to enclose our small back porch so our dogs can stay on it and get them out of the house that we just did some work on finally. It already has a roof and some walls, so I just have to build two walls, frame, insulate, etc. Don’t need to move electric or plumbing I don’t think, which is nice.

Also plan to hire next year and grow my business alot as I recently had a scare with hurting my back pretty bad, so I would like to have employees as a sort of insurance. I would eventually like to be out of the physical part of the field.

Making pretty good progress on the shed build. Walls, loft and trusses are up, as well as 90% of the siding and roof sheathing.

The burning question at this moment, is where to place the skylight? On the more vertical portion of the roof, or the more horizontal one?

Got a nice little reclaimed 22” x 30” skylight off craigs, for $65. With all the flashing, to boot.

Horizontal

How come? @Innocentbystander

Seems like it would let in more light that way, if that’s the goal.

I guess I was thinking in terms of how low the sun is in our northern sky this time of year :man_shrugging:

I got nothing on that. But if you aren’t running electric to it you could have a nice solar set up with led light strips for under $250, including panel, battery and lights

I’m running a 40amp service to the shed, and am lined up already with LED’s and a power driver for them.

But I’d love to hear what you recommend for low cost solar. I’ve been itching to do a PV install at our house.

That will be a phone conversation when I’m sitting at the cabin on the porch in my rocking chair. You have my number. Call anytime Saturday.

I’ll be busy tearing down the Road King engine and upgrading the oil pump and cam plate, installing gear drive S&S cams and replacing the stock compensator with a Dark horse moto sprocket. Then rebuilding the front and rear suspensions on my E30.

While you have it apart Steve, now is the time for some adjustable coil overs and camber plates and Polly bushes as well while it’s apart it would be rude not too, there a great handling chassis when stiffened up, the original suspension makes for a great boat anchor leave them in the corner for when you need them.

Getting some insulation installed today. And none too soon.

Gaps will get filled with sprayfoam.

3.5” thick extruded polystyrene. I’ll be able heat this thing with a candle

When you have a crappy day you go to the shop at midnight and start on a trailer build. Some how I committed to 7 for the winter

Any reason you didn’t use the foil backed kind? I have the same stuff (foil backed), and some batts, in my pole building. My heat goes out through the garage doors and a little in the ceiling. I don’t heat it often in the winter, just when I’m working on a project that normally requires painting or staining. I put the 1.5" foil back on my ceiling, one section has batts underneath that. I heat it with a slamander, gets so hot that I have to take off sweaters. Bad part is it cools off rather quickly then the sweaters are back on.
