Now that you have your enclosed trailer you can throw a heater in there and offer gutter cleaning again. Heck, you can just go ahead and wash year round too.
So I started my PW up like I was about to wash something and sprayed for a little bit. Everything was normal. Then I turned off the engine and unhooked the water supply and attached my small 3 foot piece of hose and dumped in some antifreeze, raised it up high and pulled the cord several times and still the antifreeze would not go through the pump. I pulled it a lot and it was all just still sitting at the bottom of the 3 foot piece of hose, right where it connected to the pump. Just did not want to go in.
So anyway, I then started the engine and that pulled everything through quickly of course and i turned it off as quick as I could. I’m hoping it didn’t shoot all the antifreeze thru TOO FAST but some pink was still dripping from the outlet so I think it’s good.
So strange that the engine off & pulling the cord technique worked fine the year before, but did not work this year, but not a big deal.
I wouldn’t worry about it coming out. The point behind winterizing, from my understanding, is to remove the water and replace it with something that is not going to freeze. If the winterizer passes through then it has removed the water that would cause the issue. Another option, if you want winterizer to be stay in, would be to buy this Amazon.com. You screw in and squeeze the winterizer through the machine.
It wasn’t primed like last year and you pulling the cord just didn’t have enough umph to prime it.
You’re much better at explaining with technical terms than I am, haha
Dumb question, what exactly “primes” it? I assumed the fact that I had been running/using the PW the year before primed it, but I also ran the PW and sprayed for about 5 minutes this year before trying, so maybe not? Or maybe 5 minutes just wasn’t enough time?
A primed pump means the pump is full of liquid, Un primed means it’s full of air. Your pump is primed now with antifreeze, if you start it back up with no liquid to inlet side and push all the antifreeze out and suck air in your pump,Its un primed. make sense ?
Makes perfect sense, thanks for the help!
