I washed a house last week on a really hot day and I guess that I either didn’t rinse the windows off thoroughly enough or I waited too long to rinse them.
I was using a combination of sodium hypochlorite and dish washing liquid.
The customer called me back and showed me that from the inside of the house, the windows had been quite badly stained by the house washing mix.
It’s been a week and a half since I washed the house so whatever the stain is has been there a while with many hot days for it to bake in on.
I said I’d go back in 2 days time to clean the windows - my plan was to use 1 part vinegar 1 part water and scrub the windows. I’m worried that this may not work.
I’m quite stressed out about this so I’d love to hear if anyone has had the same issue and how they recommend that I fix it?
I’m unsure if the stain is primarily the dish washing liquid or bleach or a combination.
If you’re collecting money from people and pitching yourself as a professional business… ditch the dish soap and buy a designated surfactant. Majority use Elemenator, but there are other options as well.
That spotting could also be from the tds levels in the water.
I disagree with this wholeheartedly. I’ve used just about every “designated surfactant” you can buy, and none are as good as gain. It masks the smell far better to the point we get comments from clients regularly about how fresh it smells after the wash and how the “last company” they used made their house smell like bleach for a week. I’m sure some of that is overblown, but it happens often enough that it is clearly a net positive. I would also argue that it rinses better than the Elemenator’s of the world for whatever reason.
I know this isn’t a popular opinion here, but it is what it is.
