Window AC units

Quick question guys. When washing a house, do you wrap the AC units with like a garbage bag or do you just go east around them. Im just afraid of getting Chem on the coils

(Go easy around them) I meant. Stupid autocorrect

Just rinse the unit down….no need to cover.

I hit them from the north, south, east and west when I can! But when soft washing, I go over and around it without putting any direct pressure on the seams, and I’ve had no complaints.

Thanks guys. Was just worried because I watched another guy wash a house and by the time he left, rust was running down the side of the house.

He didn’t cause the rust but it sounds like he stirred up an underlying issue. If you disable your injector (I use inline poly ball valves), you can rinse with soap nozzles so the house doesn’t see anything more than a light rain. A nice mist from top to bottom is the best rinse. I always point out to the homeowner afterward, “This facia board has done its job, you have a rust issue over here, that shutter is barely hanging on & your electrical meter is about to fall off.”, etc…
