Would a 8 gallon a minute machine shoot higher than a 5 1/2 gallon minute if they were both operating at the same psi?
No. It will shoot the same distance.
This is my experience, someone more knowledgeable may say otherwise.
Thank you that’s what I was thinking but wasn’t sure if my logic was correct.
My 8gpm shoots about 50 feet
My 4gpm about 40

The 8gpm will create a larger/fatter stream. Thus a larger mass of water moving, and therefore greater momentum. A fatter stream will also spray farther before dispersing completely due to wind or atmospheric drag.
