Will a 12v electric system reach 2.5 to 3 stories for soft wash

Hello, I’m new here. I have a power washer but I feel like its useless for washing tall outdoor siding. I’m not using pressure to wash the siding. I would like to use the sh stuff to get it clean. It makes since. I assume there is no way to get it up there with a power washer. I did try it trough a foam cannon with no soap (feel free to laugh). It seemed like it was to diluted. Id also imagine downstreaming it is a bad idea for the pump. I feel like it would be to diluted as well. I am guessing the professionals use a “12v system” to pump that stuff up to the top of the siding with almost straight concentrate 5% or so.

Do those 12v systems really reach that high?
Does the product they sell for power washing siding really work or should I just use the sh for mold? is there even a point to using a foam on siding at all? How far off am I on my assumptions about soft washing siding? Don’t worry you wont hurt my feelings this stuff is interesting to me and want to do better work.

Thank you,

Welcome to the forum.

Best thing you can do at this point is start using the search function (the magnifying glass icon) and do a lot of reading on the subject. Everything you asked has already been answered.

One key word that will help is ‘downstreaming’. You only need 1% SH strength to kill most algae and mold on houses.

You could look into an Xjet if you need a higher concentrate but 5% seems very high unless you are talking about roof washing.

In my experience a 12v does not reach that high but it all depends on your setup and what kind of tips you use.

Pressure washers reach that high when you know how to use one. Read and learn all about how on this website

You’ll have to define “high” siding. Are you cleaning a 2 story home, 4 story? Is it vinyl, painted wood?

Just for what it’s worth, I am able to hit 2.5 - 3 stories on a non-windy day from the ground without a wand extension or even the wand for that matter. That’s using a machine that has considerably less flow than majority of the others here. Downstreaming (as someone had previously suggested) is a super efficient and common way to soft wash with a pressure washer and can be added to most washers very easily and with minimal costs.

Welcome to the forum and the wash world. Hope you are able to stick around, do some research and then are able to determine what would best work for YOU based upon what YOU are hoping to achieve. There’s guidance and opinions from so many folks here - people that just wash a few a month to companies that wash a few an hour.

Yeah I plan on doing all of that. I may get an x jet.
