Who's using StaBil 360?

Is this the recommended daily use additive for operation (as opposed to long term storage) with pump gas on small pressure washer engines?

No…just for winter storage

I just use 93 everyday…seems to run a lot better then 87

93 octane too expensive! 70 cents more each gallon! I think the treatment would be cheaper, at least around here.

I was having this debate in my own brain recently. Did you watch the StaBil video about ethanol? I learned a lot from that and decided to try the 360 this time. I have a cheap Poulan chainsaw that would start and run, but if I pulled the trigger all the way, it would stall out. I almost put it in the garbage. I put some gas treated with 360 in there and the stupid thing is working perfectly. Maybe a fluke, but it sure convinced me.

70¢ a gallon? Don’t trip over dollars to pick up pennies! Run the preimum gas in all small engines. They will last a lot longer!

How?
MY understanding is the higher octane is only to prevent ping
You wont get better hour per gallon or a cleaner burning fuel by running premium. Unless your running a higher compression engine, i dont see how you will benefit.
Ive heard this debate a lot but no definitive answer on either side.

Higher octane burns cleaner. Less carbon build up on the valves. Fewer fouled plugs, less corrosion in the carb. Just my advise!

My big brother owned a ton of machinery for his contracting company and a tractor for a small farm. We use to have a heck of a time getting stuff fired up after sitting for a couple weeks. He’d replace carbs and it’d be fine for a little while.

He started running premium in everything and never had a problem again. That’s the only reason I run premium so totally anecdotal, but during season when the machines are running every day I run regular.

Premium fuel is not designed for small, low compression engines. Using premium fuel to avoid ethanol issues seems quite expensive to me.

Ethanol bad…

Down here in TN we have a gas station that sells ethanol free but its more expensive then premium

The higher octane won’t make a difference, but octane is not the only difference between regular and premium gas. Premium gas also has additional detergent additives. Years ago, I used to have a Suzuki Sidekick. One time, I put premium in it just for the hell of it. It was like driving a different car! It cleaned out whatever crap was in there and gave it a lot more pep. Even when I switched back to regular, it still ran great. Now I make a habit of running a tank of premium once in awhile just to clean the system.

Ok if you burn 5 gallons a day 5 days a week for 7 months it would be $490 more to run high grade.

Say I pull up to a $1,800 wash job and can’t get the motor to start because it finally gummed up.

How good does that $490 look now?

My plow trucks all get premium in the winter. They all have more power to push snow with high grade. True story!

It wouldn’t have gummed up because I used a treatment additive for $25 for 128 gallons.

5 x 5 x 28 is 700 gallons of gas.

You spent $150 to treat 700 gallons

I spent $490

You saved $340 in a year by putting additives in.

To each their own!

I must also add that if you are blowing 700 gallons of fuel through a PW a year you are not worried about $490 lol

Sorry, my bad, it’s $25 for treatment of 512 gallons (32oz) . Can you run the numbers again?

Nope!
