Did a customers house yesterday they sent me this picture this morning never seen this before. The house was not oxidized no pressure was used. I have heard people that use onerestore for this was just seeing if anyone had any suggestions. House is one year old.
You might want to elaborate on how you cleaned it and what you used
Was cleaned with SH and Elemonator thanks
Ok…. What %SH hitting the siding? How much elemonator was used? What equipment and pressure were used to apply and rinse, how long did you let it dwell, did it dry before you could rinse, did you try wiping it off, is it more of a stain or a chalky residue left on there….etc.
More info is needed because I’ve cleaned a decent number of houses and have never seen that bad of white staining or whatever it is left of siding of any color.
I know I have done around 500 houses never seen anything like this it’s almost brand new house . I use 7GPM am right under 1% sh did not let dwell for more then 10 mins no sun was out there was nothing that came off on my hand. Use 1oz per gallon of soap it’s just that one spot rest of the house looks great that’s why I am puzzled.
I’m certainly no expert, and I’m curious to see what others say. From the picture it looks like like soap or sh dried and left residue. Did you try to re wash that area? Again you probably have more experience than me I’m just curious
I am going to try that today but very odd as it’s only in a few spots and no sun was out and I always triple rinse to be safe.
Any luck with it today?
I’d cut back on the soap. That’s a lot of soap.
My guess is a re-wash fixes it.
Washed it again with no luck for the heck of it did a test spot with aluminum brightener which I use for rust and it came right off they did have fresh rocks put down not sure if it had something to do with it but it seemed like it.
So it fixed the problem ? What does the rock have to do with it?
So are you going to wash the house with alum brightner?
No clue why it would just an idea it was only on lower part of those two spots where new rock was put in not sure very odd but came all clean now.
Glad to hear it, because I’m new and learning what made you think to use aluminum brightener on vinyl instead of, gutter grenade, or one restore ?
It’s what I had on hand did a small test spot and it worked right away thank you.
I was wondering about that when I saw the rock there. That stuff can make a lot of dust.
Glad you tried the aluminum brightener. as you know, my goto on weird stuff. I think you can probably downstream it. just drop your tube in the bottle and spray it on, let sit about 5 min and then I’d hit again, let sit a min and then rinse. Couple of gallons will probably do the whole side.
Prewet windows and definitely don’t let dry. It’s almost instant. I say 5 min, but usually for 2nd coat, I only wait about 2-3. It works quick if it’s going to work.
Thank you yes it worked great definitely going to keep that in mind if I run into anything weird again.
I think aluminum brightener is highly underrated. Thanks to Racer, I carry it and use it a lot now. I had an old farm house that had bad black staining under the corners of the window frames, 2 minute dwell and light brushing and they were gone. Just recently cleaned a whole house that was covered in rust from well water irrigation. Only took me about ¾ of a gallon of brightener mixed 50/50 to clean the bottom 4’ of the whole house, took me 1 ½ hours, full house wash included.
For house washing, it seems like anything SH won’t remove, it will. In my truck I only carry my HW mix, degreaser and brightener. One of those 3 cleans everything I come across on residential properties.
Exactly Nick. The only other thing I carry is Dragon Juice.
Do you use the Napa brand or the other brand they carry?
