White Haze

I’ve used the search feature to find my answer, but could not find a solution. I used liquid chlorine, water, and dawn dish soap to remove some built up algae and mildew on the stone on this house. I even diluted the mix a little more than what was called for. I treated it three times, just soft washing it. It looked nice after it was finished, but when it started drying, some of the stones started to develop a white haze look. I have access to F9 Barc, Efflo, Groundskeeper, and EBC cleaner/degreaser. It was a quick and easy job,…but I now have to return to “fix” the problem. I’m open to suggestions.

Could be the Dawn. I used it when starting out and I liked to never get those streaks off. Try using snotmenade or a dedicated softwash surfactant.

It’s ok guys, we may not get likes we deserve but in 5 years there’s hope lol. It’s like prison, just gotta put your time in!

Is that real stone or fake? I’ve seen some issues with the fake stone, so…

What you guys on about! This place has no gate keeper I’m yet to report to authority :sunglasses:. If that is fake stone then I am fooled. As DC Brock said it’s most likely a surfactant issue. Use the right stuff and rinse well.

I know I’m little late to this one but I have a few questions. Why would you use dawn to start with? Did you take any before pictures? I’m assuming you washed the entire column not just the one spot. Looks like a combination of the wrong surfactant and not enough rinsing. Do you have access to hot water and a scrub brush?

That’s what my next step is,…to use a dedicated surfactant. I’m on it right now as we speak.

I was using it as a surfactant in a mix to kill algae and mildew. I washed and rinsed the whole column three times before I actually started to let it dry. The process was apply, wait a couple of mins, then rinse. Each application kept removing more and more algae and mold. The haze started showing when I started to actually let it dry.

Yes, I do have have access to 300* F water and a scrub brush.

I would go with hot water and scrub brush ot a fairly small area. Dont ever use dawn again

But my plates look so good. What do i do now

I’ll give it a shot. I’ll just make sure to be prepared with a couple of different methods.

Your dogs wash your dishes? Canni have one

He doesn’t wash them but he sure does a great job with the prewash. The dishwasher washes the dishes
