Which trailer do you recommend?

Just not the place to try and get the cheapest.

That looks like the hitch ball held just fine but the nut and lock washer are gone. It’s a good idea to check those regularly. If you don’t have a wrench big enough to tighten it–get one.

I thought a lock washer wasn’t supposed to come loose from vibration. Also it was years ago but i remember one of the pieces had broken apart. That’s what i meant in hardware. I Will check it regularly now though!

I’ve seen plenty of them that have backed off. Just tightened my brother’s up a few weeks ago on his Jeep and that thing has probably towed a trailer less than 100 miles in it’s lifetime so it wasn’t loose from being used a lot. Lock washers actually don’t work very well at all. NASA did a study on them and pretty much just said they’re useless.

Wow! Good to know!

Late in reading this post and I didn’t check out all the prices, but Appalachian Trailers is a direct consumer manufacturer. They have a location in Ohio. Very happy with my enclosed trailer and I know they make some sturdy open trailers. Check them out.
