Which Quick Connects?

I like it. Which unloader are you running? I ordered a zk1 and am hoping that will work good for me. I have a fear that I will get everything set up right but won’t be able to go through the reel without the whole thing ‘birdsnesting’

I see where you’re coming from Wizard, that makes sense thanks for sharing. I take it it holds less hose because of the bulky quick connects sticking up around the reel? You’re using the 18" Hannays correct? How long do your many import quick connects hold up using them so often and being drug around through the grass and mud etc?

Zk1 here as well. I avoid bird nesting by locking the reel when in use, and being careful to wind the hose tight and straight.

If you’re really picky, you could also lash down the hose to the side of the trailer with a rubber twisty tie. That’d probably keep everything perfectly in place.

Any other method is supercilious

The flexzilla hose ends seem to be much easier to thread on than other hoses I’ve used. They just go right on.

250 is more than enough 95% of the time. It sits on there a bit wonky but rolls up the same way every time. I tend to not drag QC fittings through the mud & haven’t had any issues there. I usually pick up each section where the fittings meet & drag the loops. Color coding comes in handy. 18 inch Hannays.

I was saying he can’t get them from Parker in SS they do have China made cheapos in 304 SS

I probably wouldn’t use them for actually hooking up but if there was a SS version that I could use an adapter to 1/2" NPT on it would be nice for storage on the reel.

What the 1/2" NPT end for?

What’s the point of the quick connects at the faucet? You still have to screw it on. I use the Fllexilla with with the swivel ends, can’t get any easier than that.

The point is you ought to try it, if not that’s cool with me lol

LOL, you still have to screw it on, then you’ve got to push the connecting piece on. That’s 2 steps instead of one. Sorry, just don’t see the point.

I’m going to type up this long winded explanation as to why I’ll never go back then you’ll STILL be stuck in your ways with having never tried it. It’s cool I get it, I’ll save my breath  Have you at least watched the video I posted. It was just for you so I wouldn’t have to type and type

Of course I did. But it’s not unusual to have a big bush I’m trying to reach behind to reach spigot and I’d probably drop the part that went on spigot, and if I did get it on, I wouldn’t have enough leverage to push on the hose part. And to be completely honest, in my 72 years I’ve gotten pretty good at screwing on a hose and never had a challenge. It’s a neat idea I suppose but it addresses a problem I’ve never had.

I could see it being of more use connecting a couple of hoses if I had to do more than once in awhile, because like Infinity, I sometimes have to disconnect my 1st 100’ to plug in straight to tank. So just for you I may try it there.

1/2" ports on reel manifold. Would make it where I could just click the hose in there and reel it up. Right now I use a female camlocks. It works but kinda bulky.

i got the big Cox reel with the 1in fpt ports and use the 3/4ght adapter. even the swivel is 1in fpt. I just said screw it, Im getting hose that will not kink, so I got.the Apex red rubber never kink extreme. tough house, similar to thick wall braided vinyl.
