I’m convinced that they are secretly gathering, waiting to wage a war on all pressure washers. They probably have their own sub reddit and a private facebook page.
Seriously, I disconnected my hose reconnected it, turned on unit, and water came gushing out of the quick connect. I keep a bunch of orings, that isn’t the problem. I couldn’t find it and I had the gun and hose on the trailer for a quick test. Just odd. Maybe it was a free range o ring.
On a side note, just got my order of quick connect fittings. Man did they go up in price. That one fitting almost doubled in price since the last time I ordered them.

We only disconnect a hose when it blows so we can replace it. Granted that seems to be every six months now instead of once a year or so

Something to look into also is we never blown a o ring in the first two years and last week we replaced 5… now i need to buy more.. hmmmmmmmmm
Glad you popped in here, since you have probably forgotten mor about pumps than I will ever Know. What would be the best replacement pump for a GF 8040? I can’t even find a GF 8040 on the internet, guess they stopped making them when I bought mine. Google keeps giving me the HP 8040 as a result, but I don’t trust them.
Getting some belt whine periodically, could just be loose and need adjusted, but knowing my luck once I mess with something…
Hp is the same thing. Udor was the Cadillac of pumps for 20 years, but no longer. Legacy HD pumps, GX8030R, is a good pump. Always try to find one with U packings instead of V packs, and the heavier the pump the better.

Thank you for taking the time to enlighten me.
Are all the rebuild kits the same? Got a screeching sound several times today when on the gun. Pump has less than 500 hrs on it (oil is fine). Got home ran air through all the lines and unit, but I dont’ want to pop the valve caps without the rebuild kits in case the orings or the packing things with the springs in them are bad (sorry don’t know the name of them). I typed in GF 8040 but nothing sticks. No other identifying info on the pump (unless it is on the side I can’t see). I had just replaced the unloader the last week or so and it worked fine. Only happened when on the trigger, not when in bypass. It seemed to end after a bit so maybe it was just trash.
