A few questions. When cleaning aluminum pool enclosures is it necessary to use chlorine? I spot treat areas where mildew is tough, but the pressure washer usually has no problem removing it alone, and the end result is nice and clean. A lot of my customers have concerns with chemical use because they have foliage inside enclosure and nice landscapes around perimeter. I have read on the internet that if you don’t use chemicals any growth can grow back quicker, but is that true for surfaces that are not porous. What about pavers and concrete? Or painted/stained decks? When is it necessary to implement use of chlorine when pressure washing?
You should only use chlorine when attempting to remove mold, mildew, atmospheric contaminates and some water soluble stains. Oh, and for drawers and athletic socks.
If you are getting pool cages clean with no SH, then you are using too much pressure, and you will be sorry when you hit one that is heavily oxidized. Bye-Bye paint!. A simple rinse down of the foliage takes care of burning the leaves. SH through an injector seems to be ok for plants as long as they get rinsed down.
Not using too much pressure, I am using an eighty degree angle tip, have done many enclosures with oxidation and never stripped paint. Even when there is paint stripped already from prior pressure washing. I have a chemical injector but it doesn’t get used much.
No alternative to SH wash, just different a technique to what you are doing. Keep reading here and at PT State and you will figure it out quickly, you’re pretty close now
