What type of stone is this?

What type of stone, and will a cold unit with regular house mix work? It’s a pretty soft stone.

Hey John- what you have there is Split Face Block

We clean that type of siding all the time when it comes to buildings. Home Depot’s for example have split faced Block and the stone once again like you stated is pretty soft faced. Yes you can clean them with a house mixture and “Cold” water but heat speeds up the process some and you will need more pressure in the water hitting the cleaning area then you would on a house.

If there is efflorescence bleeding thru on these blocks you will need a different cleaning solution to attack that but tell who’s ever responsible for this job that efflorescence most likely will not come out.(shouldn’t be much of a problem).

Hey John–I just noticed on my website if you go to this page Clean County Power Washing - Building Cleaning | Clean County Power Washing you can see us cleaning split face block for a movie theater. We did a couple of these Movie theaters with this type of block. It came out good and also paid pretty well.

Thanks, John.
