I got a call from kohl’s to clean this stain. They say it’s mold but it looks to jet black to me to be mold. Any idea what this vent could be from?
Yes it’s black mold and roof run off year of it. That is a roof drain.
toss a test of SH on it and see 
Might have a touch of roof tar as well so bring a degreaser.
