What kind of roofs do you clean?

Clean probably 75% asphalt comp, 24% shake, and 1% tile/concrete/pvc

About 95% concrete or clay Spanish tile and 5% shake and shingle.

Have a low pressure fat boy set up but rarely use it.

I believe our algae grows differently out here in SoCal. Doesn’t Softwash properly on a high enough percentage of the jobs to justify bringing it out.

Long story but we have searched pretty hard but haven’t been able to make it feasible in our region.

I think the proof is in the pudding as well as there are thousands of guys cleaning roofs out here in SoCal and I’ve seen only a handful of them (myself included) who advertise any soft washing. And the only guy who seems to push it hard advertises dry scrubbing the algae with a stiff bristled brush to loosen up the thick growth before chem application… Seriously?!

Am I in the only area that soft washing doesn’t seem to work consistently enough?
And yes our mix has been plenty strong, spare me the ignorant elementary questions please LoL

I softwashed a few in San Diego I agree it wasn’t as simple as in other areas needed to be almost 60/40 sh to water and you had to rinse because not all of it would come off.

Other problem is gutters are not on the majority of the houses so makes it a little more difficult as well.

Asphalt, cedar shake, slate, in that order
