I know in America they carry around these huge buffer tanks due to poor spigot supply.
Can anyone in Australia (preferably Melbourne) tell me what size buffer tank (if any) I would require for a 4000psi @ 7gpm pressure washer…??? I am currently looking at 150lt buffer tank.
Any suggestions from my fellow fairdinkem Aussies would be greatly appreciated.
I don’t believe you’d get more than 7gpm out of most spigots no matter where you are. Your pump also needs to bypass back to your tank. I suggest getting at least a 473.176L buffer tank…lol
Lot of variables there, do you wash where water is scarce etc. Im currently running two machines off one trailer that require 12 gpm and need a larger buffer, 600 gallons.
How many gpm do most hose spigots average in your area? That’s the main thing you’ll want to base your decision off of. 95% of the houses I do can keep up with my 8 gpm but, if I’m on a house with a well, I can empty the buffer tank pretty fast.
Gday Jet,
Im a bit of a drive from Melbourne but for what its worth i use a 1000 litre IBC pod and its done me good for the last few years.
I encounter poor water supply all the time.
I’m set on getting a 1000 litre vertical headboard tank ($2400) when I rebuild my rig this wet season.
Currently I run 2 machines- 5.5gpm and 8gpm on a modified car trailer.
Since I got the 8 it’s pretty much all I use unless I need hot water or have a labourer.
This coming rebuild im ditching the trailer and stacking machines on my truck -nps 300.
I’ve also been thinking about an NPS 300 or similar. I guess it comes down to funds at the end of the day.
My 4x4 is a single cab 2019 Mahindra Pikup which has a towing capacity of only 2500kg. I think I need to bite the bullet and get a small truck and have no more weight issues.
I’m not particularly happy about towing a trailer day in and day out as I don’t think it would do my little forby much good either.
Once again… thanks for the valuable feedback guys!
