What ear buds are you using?

I’ve been using J Buds Airsport ear buds for almost a year & they have been great. I’m happy with them but if there is better out there to be had, I’m looking for it. What you got?

Bought the whole team these for Christmas…everyone’s been loving them (and most of the new hires are wanting to buy some too). I kind of like them as well. They’re far safer on the job too…

I like something like that compared to the tiny individuals for sure

Say what?

Those look pretty cool I like the no bud in the ear feature. However I use these ones and while I would like to have that open ear style I think I need to keep using these as earplugs more often working around the loud equipment, especially the gas powered reclaim system…
LG Tone Flex HBS-XL7 Bluetooth Wireless Stereo Neckband Earbuds with 32-Bit Hifi DAC Tune by Meridian Audio, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WQ9LP6H/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_EM873W072NC4KPFPQEM8

I would not buy this brand on Amazon though too many chances of counterfeit.

You can wear earplugs with the open ear ones…but I don’t know how well they’d work in loud environments…may find out when I finally cut the grass this spring :joy:

Ear plugs are the main feature of ear buds in this industry (or probably should be). That’s the easy part. Block out noise & replace it with rock & roll. I’ve heard the Jabras are great but they have a ton of different models on the market to dig through.

aside from true wireless, and vibe bone conduction type, I’ve used the Samsung flex, they were good and loud, charge was good, noise cancel was good, and distance was good. they just couldn’t take any yanking before they started to static and finally stop working. then the jabras sound was good loudness was ok. then the skullcandy suckd and were hole
hollow sounding
plus volume sub par. currently using the anker brand and charge lasts long, charge time not to bad. loudness is great plus sound good. the yank factor a bit problematic, and distance is ok.

Have you boys looked into matching handbags?

Ear buds? Are y’all standing around the truck while washing? I feel as if I’m in no position to damage my hearing 50-150 ft away from my Honda GX270’s muffler.

I think he means the true wireless earbuds. Like airpods or similar. I imagine they’re that much easier to lose.

I got a pair of the Aeropex last year that Jason @JAtkinson linked above. I like them for the most part. Sound quality is decent. I think they sound better while wearing earplugs, though perhaps a bit bass-heavy and muddy. I can even hold a phone conversation while working near loud equipment when I have earplugs in.

Battery life is also just ok. I think I get around 6-7 hours of continuous playback with them.

But the water resistance and safety factor of being able to hear ambient noise were the major selling points for me. (I don’t usually wear them with earplugs unless I’m right next to the machine).

My backup headphones are a pair of over the ear Marshall’s. Very comfy, block out a good amount of outside noise, great sound quality, and like 18 hours of battery life. Call quality is just adequate. And they were only like $70, compared to the Aeropex that were $160 back when I bought them.

I use them mostly while doing interior work in vacation homes where no one’s around to try and talk to me.

I’ve always tried to preserve my hearing because I like music too much. Even the pop of the gun puts off a harsh frequency & I’d rather replace it with Spotify. First job I worked with ear buds, 30 minutes later the music dropped out & was replaced by a voice prompt: “Incoming call”. I touched the right bud & it answered it. I booked 2 houses to wash without even slowing down to take the phone out of my pocket. I would have missed that call without them so they paid for themselves right away but the music alone is a game changer. They also cancel out the noise so you can stay on the trigger & the customer will only hear your voice. That being said, it sounds like I’ll probably try the Airpods next for $99.

Well, there’s your problem. You needa supercharged diesel with straight exhaust pipes. If you can’t be heard from the next town over, you’re doing it wrong!
