I went to one of my competitors the other day to buy a drum of SH off him and noticed a whole pile of bandit signs from different PW companies in the area thrown behind his shop.
I had a guy come up to me at Lowe’s the other day and we talked for a good 20-30 mins, when I left I noticed he or someone had ran over both my signs I had up there
Compliments of @Spraygenix
Wash pros are the true alpha race
You realize he’s in the Air Force, right?
Thats why my nickname or tag on here (whatever you call it) says SH controller. Because I’m currently an air traffic controller in the tower, and pressure wash part time. When I get out in 2 years, I’ll go full time wash. Can’t wait for that moment
So you guys to berate me too hard, these are basically temporary cards. My last cards are very outdated and dont have all my services but I’d still like this card to be fairly good looking…
What would you guys put in the area below 15% house wash on the back of the card? I was thinking of an about the business section or about the owner section
On the front of the card, I would drop the “Services” heading, it’s a bit superfluous. I would also say “House Washing” instead of Washes, as it fits better with the format of the other list items.
Do you have a website, or at least a domain name for one? You can sign up for Google business apps at $5/month, and have a custom email like, info@276wash.com (yeah, that domain is available ). I think it’d look a lot more professional than the gmail address you have now.
On the back, I would change the 15% to a $ amount. Like “$25 off” or something like that. Pick an amount that would be no more than 10% of your average house wash.
(Experts in marketing say that a dollar amount is almost always more compelling than a percentage.)
If you’re looking to fill up space on the back, I would make the b&a pics larger. Like maybe the right 1/3 of the card. Then have all the text on the left 2/3.
Just some thoughts.
@Spraygenix is awesome at this sort of stuff.
Speaking of @Spraygenix. Want to make me some business cards? I’ve been thinking about working on some tri-folds for commercial prospects but will probably be later this winter. I’ll pm you my email address so you can shoot me a price if you’re interested in the work.
I agree with house washing instead of washes just lapse of judgment on that one… no website or domain yet that’s on the agenda for the winter months.
For the discount my idea was to just charge more so there was barely a loss if any but i can also understand a dollar amount being more intriguing and at 25 dollars isnt really much of a loss.
I’ll work with making the pics larger and see how that looks but great ideas overall, thank you. And yes like I mentioned these are temporary like cards I’m wanting to have some stuff professionally designed by next season after the website and other things are finished, the work I’ve seen from him is very good
$8.88 on namecheap. Might as well snap it up before someone else does. You don’t have to build a functional website to use the domain for google apps either, IIRC.
Customers are wise to this tactic. One reason I think percentages don’t work as well. You’d probably also have number of people that would make sure and get a price before showing you the card…
Email me your logo.
I agree with @Infinity on every one of these points.
@DJPWS, who did you end up using to print these? And have you got your magnets yet?
Thanks! Be in touch this evening.
@Spraygenix I used Office Depot’s print center and had them print it, the prices were close but I like how close Office Depot is so it worked out.
I used vista print for the magnet which came out VERY sharp. The image you made was perfect.
I was parked next to a car that produced a glare on the magnet so excuse that lol.
Only glare I see is from your sideview mirror
Very sharp, btw!
The magnets look great!
That’s what the glare is from, my mistake. Good observation!
Due to your excellent workmanship!
