What do you find works for advertising?

Just starting my new venture in pressure cleaning and would like to know what most people find works?

What I found out is that no one type of advertising really works but if I had to pick one it would be direct mail marketing with postcards.

Thanks iv done a few letter box drops and got a few hits from that, any radio advertising?

yes I’ve tried radio before but it’s hard to target a certain demographic this way, spent a lot of money with no return on investment.
Also my website has been a huge contributor to my success as well.

Your marketing plan revolves around one “Main” thing, it’s the cornerstone of verifying your business to customers, it’s where they go to learn more about your business. It makes the phone ring and keep ringing. It works 24/7/365…A Professionally Designed High Ranking Website!!!

Starting your marketing plan without a website is a total waste of money.

Just Saying…

What do you think of other forms of advertising such as Facebook or Twitter?

They’re parts of your marketing plan. Only speaking for myself, they don’t make the phone ring much, but add to the “Visibility” of your business. Social media also helps your website SEO. Again everything revolves around your website.

There will be no phone book in 10 years or less, it’s all going to the web, get on board or get left behind. For a small business owner, those are your only options.

I planned on it, I was going to get a fb page up next couple of weeks or so then getting a website up within 12 months. I’ll start looking into a web page a little sooner I think. Thanks.

Our first “Pro-Built” website paid for itself in 2 weeks, it’s a smart investment.

Cully I totally agree with Guy. I spent money I didn’t have to get my website built in September…It already paid for itself…It’s scary spending the money when you don’t have it, but not getting work is a lot more scary.

BTW: I went with Hatch. Inexpensive monthly pricing, great SEO, excellent communication and customer service (though Anya does nicer sites, in my opinion…my Hatch site is getting me work)

Here’s what I would suggest. GET YOUR WEBSITE UP AND RUNNING BEFORE YOU GO ANY FURTHER IN THIS BUSINESS!! Hope that was subtle enough… To do the above I would suggest joining the PWRA Association and from there look to hire Anya From Web Design Raleigh NC | National Award Winning Web Design | Ambidextrous Services | 919-975-4942 where you will get a PWRA discount on her website design and oh yea…tell her I recommended for you to contact her

I would say website, postcards, yard signs, then door hangers, in that order.

Most all of my business comes from referrals. The other majority of my business comes from the website.

I am definitely going to be contacting them to help me get started. Thanks for the help.

for me, it’s website, yard signs, and flyers, in that order. Have yet to try postcards but i’ve heard good things about them

Website and good old fashioned door to door work wonders

Google Adwords is part of my marketing strategy. Takes time to get it right, best advice if thinking
this might work for you pick up " Google Adwords For Dummies". Chapter 18 “The Ten (or so) Most
Serious Adwords Mistakes”. I was doing all of them. Probably other books out there also.

I am in my 2nd year of business and I have to agree with website and great SEO. Last year I did not rank very well compared to local competition but this year I am on the first page and has made a HUGE difference. It is not the best looking or most professional website out there but I will be changing that in the near future. I also like facebook advertising and yard signs.
