What do you do for lunch?

Cause we’re not use to eating. Heck 95% of the time we never stop to eat anything. Grizz learning though, he stashes crackers in my truck, lol.

That’s what the potted meat is for eat a snack and keep on moving. Sometimes I get fruit or gummy snacks are always good. I really love the orange cupcakes from hostess. We do work out in the country and this little mom and pop makes bologna burgers and you cant pass those up paired with a mountain dew and moon pie and you got a meal you cant pass up

Lots of beef jerky and danishes.

I have a green juice for breakfast, then one of those meal replacement shakes in the afternoon. I find if I eat during the day I don’t feel good, so dinner is my one mega meal. I eat late though, like 9pm, so that carries me through the next day.
At least a gallon of water during the work day though.

Plenty of water, 1 protein bar & 1 energy bar for a full days work…

I have to eat atleast a little something in morning to take my meds… its normally something small. I might take snacks on a long day, beef jerky, trail mix, etc… ill eat a sandwich or something light when i get home, then feast at dinner time.

I drink a lotta Pedialyte this time of year too…

Over the past 7 months I have been progressively eating less and less often, for the last two months I eat once a day for dinner. Two weeks ago I switched to only eating every other day. It is without a doubt the best thing I have ever done for my health and well being/energy levels. I have tons of energy all day long, get things done way faster than I ever did before and to top it off I have dropped over 100 pounds. You would think not eating you would be tired and sluggish and there may be some truth to that if you are thin and don’t have the pounds to spare, but if you are carrying a spare tire like me you’ll be shocked how good you feel skipping a few meals.

I rarely eat anything during the day and rarely eat breakfast. Maybe a protein shake for breakfast, but that is about it. And I don’t ever want to stop during the day. I try to keep a couple of protein bars and a couple granola bars in the truck just in case, but they rarely get eaten.

I’ve never been overweight but often only eat one meal when I get home. Once you get in the habit of doing so it’s not bad. I’m sure part of that habit is leftover from being in the Marine Corps when we weren’t able to be resupplied enough and had to ration. I have no problems with energy levels only eating one meal a day. Although, I will sometimes eat a granola bar in the morning if I feel the need. I don’t take breaks either and it doesn’t seem to bother me at all. Just the other day I worked 13 straight hours washing and surface cleaning only stopping once to fill up the gas tank. It has been so hot and humid here I doubt I could’ve done that if I had stopped for a quick lunch. I think the heat index was 108 that day. I do keep a bottle of water in my pocket so keep the fluids going. I definitely feel better eating one meal a day rather than 2-3.

Yea, It works for me for sure. Tons of water though, on the hot days normally a couple gallons. It is all what you get used to.

How much do you feel this helps and how? Better hydration? I get bad leg cramps so wonder if it’ll help there. The cramps in my right leg are partly due to a back injury and nerve damage. I definitely get them worse if I don’t stay hydrated enough though. Does it work better than Gatorade? I’m just curious of what all you get out of drinking it.

Used to have a few peanut butter sandwiches packed for the long jobs. Now, just keeps a few packages of lunch meat in the ice chest along with some crackers. Eat between jobs and a few granola bars here and there.

From what i understand it does offer a bit more than gatorade but not at the difference in cost. I have been getting the powder packets and mixing in water bottles, drink a few a day.

Gatorade did come out with a zero sugar, which i have been getting from time to time. Being diabetic i stay away from normal gatorade so just drink the pedialyte.

As for the leg cramps, im not medical professional but yeah i would think it would help…

I’ll have to try some of those packets. I hate waking up with leg cramps so worth a shot.

I’ve been throwing a few Nestle Splash Lemon flavored waters in the cooler each morning. It has just a subtle lemon flavor and a touch of sweetener. More of a flavored water than lemonade. I believe the sweetener is sucralose so might be an option for you. I know there’s no added benefit to drinking them but they’re great on those really hot days where you just can’t seem to get enough water in you and it gets hard to drink. Always nice getting a little flavor. Lemon is my favorite but the grape isn’t too bad either. Our daughter likes the mandarin orange. I think they also have mixed berry and keep coming out with other flavors. They’re only like $1.60 a 6 pack.

I’m with most you guys. Work too fast to take breaks. Once you take a break the motivation levels go down.

You guys should give protein shakes a chance. You can get Muscle Milk or a higher calorie powder that you can mix with milk and sit in the cooler until you can take a couple sips throughout the day. The protein holds off hunger and helps recovery on the physical side of things.
