What are y'all using for 12v pumps because everflo isn't cutting it

Title says it all. I’ve gone through like 9 of these pumps this year and probably a third of those were DOA and then another 4 or so died a week or two after first install, and a few of these also leaked from the head as soon as installed too. Bottom line is these things aren’t holding up like they used to and it’s irritated the heck out of me. I’ve got a bunch of half inch threaded banjo fittings for quick disconnects that don’t seem to connect up to anything out there besides this so I’ve been using the same pumps because it’s convenient but I’m over it now. This next year I want something different and hopefully more reliable.

In case you’re wondering, yes I flush these with fresh water religiously!

I’ve switched over to Chapin, started using their 1gpm for sprayer buckets and worked well, got their 5 and 7 to test out. I don’t use 12v systems as often as a lot of the guys on here but I haven’t noticed much difference in longevity of these vs other brands I’ve used in the past. The price doesn’t hurt either.

I want to try one of these out. 5 GPM 100 psi that’s exactly what I want. Way less than remco with exact same stats.

Flowjet…..been great for us.

I’m a noob, but I have Water Dragon 12v VersaJet Pump #WD-0670PP on my rig I bought used. Just ordered another one. Thought it bit the dust mid job and spent an hour troubleshooting but when I got all packed up, it started working again.

Hits about 2.7 stories tall reaching with M5DS nozzle and shooter tip on a ball valve wand. Shooter tip barely goes further than the M5DS. Just switched to the red gun the other day and thinking about going back to the wand. The gun doesn’t shoot quite as far as the M5DS and I feel like the patterning on the M5DS is better.

What model/pump you running?

I haven’t touched my 12v since I got an X jet. Full GPM hot sauce cannon! It’s a highly underrated tool to have in the arsenal. I saw a thread a while back that @innocentbystander uses the PressureTek pumps for SH transfer without ever rinsing & gets years out them. They are modified in house.

I’ve had good luck with Remco. I haven’t had a lot of roof business this year, but last year, I did and my 5gpm worked great. I was using Delavan but like your experience, I ended up with a storage room full of pump “parts”

I dug out my Xjet this spring to test it on a tall house that was absolutely disgusting. Southside had the 8gpm orifice and I was all set, but when I went to use the darn thing it was just a giant mist spray that barely got the second story. I don’t know what I did wrong, it’s back in the toolbox.

I run mine wide open with a jrod loaded with soap nozzles. Flip the valve and rinse water is instant. It doesn’t mist any worse than downstreaming.

I’ve been using these for transferring. Go through 1 or 2 a year. Are you flushing yours? I do with these. Have been eyeballing the big boy finish Thompson pumps but haven’t pulled the trigger on one yet.

Says out of stock down here. Can’t even order the hybrid. I like it for the little suction head on it too.

I’m definitely going to try one if I can find it.

ohhhh that looks cool! I’m going to look for that. Although it doesn’t get much easier than what I have setup, I just have a 5GPM pump bolted to the top of my buffer so it doesn’t take floor space in the bed. Then I have 2x 1/2” hoses one on suction one on output and I have them coiled up and long enough to reach my SH drum on ground and SH tank on rig. EZ-PZ lemon squeezy.

I like it because I keep it on my box truck and with bigger jobs I can fill my 55 gallon sh tank, and then bring a few 15 gal jugs of SH to top off when In the field if need be. I have it set up to cam lock into sh tank and other side is a drop stick. When don z I just drop drop stick into my 275 water tank and flush from there.

Are guys with 8 gpm using an xjet for houses? I used one with the adjustable nozzle in a pinch and don’t see how it’s plausible for daily regular use. I was thinking of taking the adjustable nozzle off and replacing with a soap nozzle but was going to tinker closer to winterization time. Don’t mean to thread hijack.
