What about Sealing Concrete, Pavers, Brick, Stucco, Stone, etc...?

How many sq ft are you getting out of the five gallon of H&C??

Just did a driveway yesterday that was 575 sq ft and used 5.5 gallons. I applied two coats and it gave a nice final product

That looks great Mike! Iā€™ve been getting a lot of requests lately to offer the sealing also, so Iā€™ve been reading up about that on here. Iā€™m going to look at a driveway tomorrow. Thanks for the help!

We are def adding this to our company. Does anyone know if you have to charge sales tax for sealing (I know we do for window cleaning) and If you can do sealing with pressure washing occupational license in Florida?

Thatā€™s a nice finishā€¦

Thank you.

Muzzle do you carry different insurance to cover this kind of work, landscape insurance or just gl insurance

Sorry I meant Mizzle

No. I just use my normal insurance. I donā€™t know whatā€™s the actually correct way to do it but I canā€™t imagine ever needing to make a claim for sealing.

You ever do any coloring of pavers?

No I havent. Iā€™ve had people ask me about it but I figure they can call a painter or paver company to do that. Basic sealing is all I do.

How many seal jobs a year you do, if you donā€™t mind me asking.

It variesā€¦ Iā€™ve gone months without doing one and sometimes I do two a month. A lot of people donā€™t like to money for the job because it gets pricey.

Are you talking about the Water Based H&C? Iā€™m seeing it for sale at Lowes, but I want to make sure itā€™s not sub-standard stuff.

Yes I use the h&c water based. Reason behind that s because you can put water based on top of anything. Here in fl itā€™s not uncommon for the installers to seal themā€¦ If they used water based in the past and you spray the solvent based on top of it youā€™ll have a mess. But you can put water based on top of solvent. Itā€™s just easier that way. Also if the client wants a gloss finish make sure you buy some of the natural finish for a base coat. The natural is cheaper and your going to final coat it with the gloss anyways. It saves some of your profit.

Are you guys still using the H&C or have you found something better? This is something we have considered adding to our company this up coming season and have been looking for a good sealer. Ever sealed a brick house after cleaning it or strictly just pavers/concrete?
