Weird Engine problems

Checked the oil levels before and after running engine for a little. The level was the same both times.
Powerwasher turned off and didn’t start, about 40minutes into the job today.

Idk how to check the ignition coil I’ll do a YouTube video or will have to find a small engine mechanic.

Bought a 5.5gpm 2 weeks ago and I was told they had it in stock. I called 4 days after and they confirmed it has my name on it. Still haven’t received a call for the shipping price.
Wish I had the damn thing

If you’re going to do any troubleshooting, it has to happen while the engine is giving you drama. Anything else is just speculation. There is a process to isolating the problem. Give it some starter fluid to test for fuel delivery. If it’s not a fueling issue, it’s most likely spark but a spark tester would confirm this. Small engine mechanics are going to take several weeks to even look at it this time of year due to their shops being full of mowers (it’s their hot season too). Best advice I can offer: source a spare GX390 locally & always keep it handy. I run a used Honda with a spare in the garage & my next engine will most definitely be a used Honda.

Same problem today…

But I purchased a Manatee Gear Drive 8GPM at 3500PSI GX690 with General Pump with k7 unloader.

Should have it by end of next week then I can take this weird powerwash problem to a pro.

Whenever I find out what’s wrong with it, I will let you all know. Maybe someone will search the forum with the same issue in the future

Pressure washing products the company? Where you ordered your 5.5 gpm?

Let’s hope not

That’s one way to get it took care of!

Pressure washer products is where I purchased the 5.5gpm However today I asked for a refund and that was accepted. April 27th they said it was in stock and had my name on it so I purchased it… however I still haven’t heard anything back.
I know everyone is busy but so am I LOL

I have a proper trailer and 275 tank so why not go straight to the 8gpm. Finances looked good for it and Manatee said they just need to add the unloader then it will be shipped next week. Purchased the plumbing kit, but still need to buy some proper 8gpm nozzles

Thought so……sorry about that. Glad your getting the 8 though, you’ll love it.

look over your spark plug. there’s many things to check.

Put that Predator in a box and ship it to me. I need a new anchor for my jon boat and if you’ve run it for 3 years, you’ve more than gotten your money’s worth, lol.

You misspelled ‘luxury yacht’. Be sure to drain the oil & fuel. It can’t be good for the fishes.

Ha. It’s a 1987 Alumna 14’ jon boat with a 9.9 hp Mercury. I bot new for duck hunting. It sat uncovered in a friends yard for about 10 years and about 2 years ago I decided to convert to a fishing boat. Had to clean up and re-deck it. There’s an 840 acre lake set right at the base of the mountains that’s a reservoir for for the Greer Public works call Lake Robinson. Only 10hp or less and kayaks allowed. Never crowded, no swimming, etc. clean enough to drink out of. It’s 20 min from my house to the landing. Loaded with bass and crappie. I mainly fish for the crappie. Best eating ever if you like pan fish. Got boat finished last Dec but then got injured in May of last year so only got to use a few times. Been sitting under cover till 2 weeks ago. Carried it out and little Mercury that’s 35 years old started right up and purred on 18 month old gas. Was testing my little Hummingbird Piranha Max fishfinder, perfect size for this boat and fishing kayaks. Worked like a charm.

That’s awesome! I have a 14’ alum from the 80s too. It was my uncle’s until he passed, sat uncovered for about 8 or 9 years. Right when COVID hit I stripped the crappy old PT and astroturf out of it (what was left), repainted it and built it out with decks and rod locker, etc…still haven’t gotten it out yet though, Mine only has a 5hp on it, which I can’t even run in most of the reserviors around here.

Yep, the old stuff was rotted out, turf and all. I’ll take some pics. It’s not super fancy like some of the ones the guys on youtube do, but I think it turned out pretty nice. I did go for some of the carbon fiber stuff on the storage box area, and someday would like to build in a true electrical panel with the rocker switches and all. But it’s very functional. Some of those old jon boat to bass boat conversions on youtube are incredible. 10k -12k jon boats, lol.

Yeah, watched some of them for ideas…but mine is mostly 2x2 coated with fiberglass resin and a sacrificial layer of paint on the topsides. I used some outdoor carpet from Lowes on it, looked decent. I actually bought a cheap rocker swicth panel off Amazon, but won’t mess with that until I get it out and see how far the batteries go when needed, lol. I’ll have to figure out where my pics went…I think we need an “off topic” thread soon :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

This one is the best 'over the top. I love it.

Yeah, forget that dude’s name…he’s a big Georgia guy. Watched a bunch of his YT videos when I was planning mine…

I had a 12 footer with a 55 lb trolling motor for a few years. It was great but the simplicity of kayaking is hard to beat. I’ll admit I am biased. This is the back yard from my comfy porch chair after the only snow of the year…

He did a heck of a job. I like all his electronics. I used the same hatch latches and carbon fiber

Found a few…I skipped the one of my finger when I caught it in the chop saw trying some non-OSHA approved end notching technique…
