Waterproof phones

Fell in a pool today. While it felt good…my Note 4 is toast. This is the second insurance claim for me in two weeks.

Does anyone have any feedback on any of the supposedly waterproof phones out there?

Lifeproof is waterproof. Have you tried one yet?

A former work mate of mine (who has money to burn) once made a phone call from the bottom of a swimming pool as a test of his new Lifeproof case. He brought the phone to work the next day and it never even flinched!.. That’s when I decided to get one. Haven’t had a bit of trouble with it!

While I am saddened by a sudden loss of your smart phone, I am supper thrilled to find out that I’m not the only one who fell in a pool while washing a house.

My iPhone 5 survived the brisk swim. No case whatsoever. It’s been one year since then. And it’s still working OK.

There were no waterproof cases when I got the phone. I’ll have to check into the Life proof case. I thing the stylus on the Note series makes it difficult for a truly waterproof case. I may try to pawn it off on my wife and get a Sony Xperia or Galaxy S5 which are said to be fairly waterproof.

I almost ate it about 3 weeks ago! Second time it happens, third times the charm!

I recommend to anyone to use Sony Xperia Z3. It has a highest waterproof rating, you can find your way in a downpour, take pictures in any weather, or just wipe off your phone after an unexpected spill.

the otter keeps my phone dry…

+1 on the lifeproof. They’re kind of pricey, but worth the protection. I skipped on the ‘device protection’ (insurance) from my carrier, and got the case instead.

I ended up getting a Galaxy S5 which is supposed to be waterproof and put it in a lifeproof case. My phone insurance dropped me after the second claim in less than 2 weeks. I’m hoping to make at least a month this time:cool:.

Sounds like you should be ok. Just don’t drop it off a roof onto concrete, and everything will be fine

Life proof, but make sure you dont lose/break any of the plug covers for any of the charger or headphone ports. that means no longer waterproof!
