Water in chemical tank and vise versa

I have a three way valve going from the DS injector to each water and chemical tank. Yesterday I did my first house wash but at the end of the day I noticed 10 gallons of water had flowed somehow into my chemical tank mixing with the sh. Then I noticed there was SH in my clean water tank when I went to drain it. How could this happen?
The only real variable other than switching to a larger water tank and 5gpm pump was that I pulled from a chemical tank instead of a bucket. But I used the exact same set up w/ the hose previously. Second to that I did use the X-Jet for the first time throughout the job. I don’t see how that could have anything to do with it though. I have no idea what’s going on can anybody give some possible explanation?

Injector is blowing back thru the hose. Pull the hose off the barb and fire up the machine. See what happens

You probably have a bad injector.

OK after flushing the supply tank I started up & I think I figured it out. When I connected the injector hose to the tee I put the bottom of the tee to the water supply and the switch was from the injector to the chemical tank. Instead I should have put the bottom of the tee to the injector and switch back & forth from chemical to water. There may have been a bit of SH in my rinse & going through the pump. I ran it for awhile to flush it out. :sunglasses:

So you didn’t actually apply any sh on the house other than the stuff in your buffer tank? Except for your x-jet?

Pretty darn sure it was as there was a lot hitting the ground. Am not sure in theory how this would happen. But when I did second story there was definitely chemical coming down hitting the driveway. I would imagine it was picking up both water and chemical.

I would imagine that when the pump was pulling from the supply tank it created suction on the chemical DS hose and pulled chemical into the supply tank when the valve was closed on the injector side. Just not sure how over 10 gallons of water got into the chemical tank.
