Water hose filter - Your thoughts?

I was looking around on Amazon and came across this little guy.

Is it necessary? Do any of you use something like this? And if so - does it affect the GPM at all?

Much better to filter between tank and machine than between water source and tank

You definitely want to use a filter.

I can assure you the clear filters from pressuretek, similar to the one in your pic, are thick and mine had taken a few drops from 4ft. Unintentionally dropped. Ive got the 1in.
