Waste disposal

Looking to get my start in the industry. Apparently by law I’m required to collect everything I do. I have to get a permit for every site I do to discharge into a sanatary sewer. Do you guys have any other ideas on how to legally discharge into the sewer without a 60 dollar permit each place I go.

Where are you located?

Are you cleaning residential or commercial?

I’m located in central Ohio, I’ll be doing surface cleaning at restaurants.

Ohio requires that??

I thought you were gonna say Kalifornia or one of those other commie states.

I hope this isn’t for residential but… good lord. Ohio learned it from watching California apparently…

Ohio EPA Guidelines

Yeah uh… I’d look into residential. I know Houston has some SERIOUS fees ($800 per truck per year) just to operate and reclaim required for commercial. HARD pass on commercial in Houston itself. You also have to have a permit to transport water. Gross.

It’s a whole screwed up deal, the epa doesnt even handle it. The city of Columbus does. Fortunately the permit is only needed once a year. So my thoughts were to just tell the customer there is a once a year 60 dollar environmental fee tagged onto the first wash of the year. Then I can wash there worry free until the next year. I really really hate residential work.

But the worst part is there is a 60 dollar charge for every location.

Does Ohio not allow you to divert the flow into a yard or the ground? If they don’t, you can contain and collect… But you’re gonna need a good way to carry all that waste water

Sanitary sewer is the same as their own sewer line, that was my understanding in texas. Aa long as you got permission to use it.

@Jake_Lambert they’ll allow me to use the sanatary sewer on site to dispose of the waste. Uncle sam just wants me to pay extra for it.

@Redjess I thought the same thing but apparently I need more permission to do so.

I would just add a $60 environmental surcharge and make a note to the customer, to thank their local city council.
