Warming up with

They say you save money keeping your freezer full rather than empty because it doesn’t have to run on as much. The money those $1 loafs of bread are saving you in electricity should at least be reinvested into some decent hot dogs instead of buying the cheapest available. Heck, that wally bread probably costs more than those Bar S dogs.

I’ve eaten that yakisoba recipe from that video 4 nights in a row. It’s good stuff. It tastes really close to what I remember. The only thing different are the noodles but even they’re close. They taste pretty similar they’re just a little thinner. I was able to find the lighter yakisoba noodles that are used more in Okinawa. They just don’t use as much or any buckwheat.

Mori soba you eat them cold

Are you saying mori soba might be the noodles the guy used for the yakisoba?

I read through the comments on that video and I guess the guy finally retired and closed down Quik Stop. They even tore the building down. That place had been open since the 1970’s.

That’s blasphemy! Take that back !!! Them hot dogs are the bee’s knees mate.

Sorry for confusing you.
No,… mori soba is made with buckwheat noodles, you don’t use them for yakisoba.
Mori soba you eat them cold.
Yakisoba noodles you can eat them hot, or in salads.

No confusion here.
Don’t mind @marinegrunt, he’s sniffed to much SH this summer without proper supervision.

Yeah but how much thermal mass could a loaf of bread have? It’s not like it’s very dense. I keep my freezer topped up with empty 2 litres bottles filled with water. Handy for the cooler on picnics and another layer in my water storage. It’s saved me a ton of money when we lost power for 3 days. Transferred all my food to chest freezer with them

They actually say to fill empty space with jugs of water to fill empty space if it’s not completely full of food. They say the mass of frozen food keeps the freezer from having to work as hard cooling the empty space. I’m sure the bread doesn’t do anything close to what ice, meat, or even frozen veggies do. I just saw a chance to give Hotshot crap about his hot dogs so I took it. To be honest @Hotshot I bought those exact dogs not even 5 days ago. I actually like Nathans or Vienna when I’m buying beef but the Bar S are good.

I keep a bunch of bottles of water in the freezer and use them in my cooler during the summer. They don’t work as well as bags of ice but I get sick of spending money on frozen water. I’d like to buy an ice machine though.

I missed out on one by 15 minutes! Gas station down the road bought a larger one, another regular bought it from him for 50 bucks…

I like raw/uncooked hotdogs… that’s how we will eat them when I was a kid.

You talking one that makes ice or one that just holds the bags of ice? If you could’ve got one that made ice for $50 that’s a steal. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a used one for less than $800 and most are well over a $1k.

The real deal ice machines, that are plumbed to the water line. It was in the way and he wanted it gone then. I was soooooo pissed/jealous. It was a little bit smaller than the ones you find in hotels but not by much. Took 4 of us to get it loaded in his truck.
