Vinyl siding streaks

Does anyone have a clue what’s going on here? We washed the siding, it was oxidized but the homeowner is saying every morning his siding now looks like this with the wet streaks. It eventually goes away but it’s there every morning. I told him it’s probably morning dew but he said it never happened before we washed it. We went back and re-rinsed and it still happens every morning. Not sure what we could’ve done to make this happen all of a sudden. I’m really confused on what’s causing this. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

If the problem is disappearing every day, I’m not sure how you caused it. It might be somewhat “recent” because this time of year (not sure where you live) the temps are changing and moisture abounds in the early morning, and then dissipates in a few hours. But if it disappears every day, I’m not sure what you could have done to make spots occur and go away every single day. That’d be impressive.

I’d be curious to see some before photos if possible. If you ended up removing enough organic material/oxidation, maybe this is just more noticeable now and isn’t something new.

That’s what i’m going with. Its just wet and maybe it was dirty enough before that you couldn’t see the wet spots.

So in the mornings this time of year, when everything is wet from the morning dew, wet spots are visible. But then, as the day goes on, the wet spots dry and disappear, and this is somehow a problem you caused? I have the same problem with my car in the mornings, I’m taking it back to the carwash to complain! lol

can you show the part above the lines? The corner of the window is obvious, but don’t know what is happening above those other two lines.

If you go back, rewash that side. Re rinsing won’t help normally.

I’m in Pennsylvania so the morning dew and weather is definitely changing! Not sure how I did this or can prevent this either! :man_shrugging:

I did use an oxidation remover after he showed me this. The streaks still came back.

:joy: I should tell him that lol

I see it often with oxidation on vinyl, my house does it. Normal for the conditions…..I’d move on. People are funny sometimes…..that’s why I have a disclosure for stuff like this. Too many variables that the normal homeowner just don’t understand or notice until your gone. We just clean, can’t make it new again.
