So I have 3 competitors. They have no reviews. No pictures. Really nothing on their google page. I on the other hand am very active, lots of pictures, and (12) 5 star reviews. Other than them being around longer, why do they rank in the top 3, and I’m #4? Any tricks toget ranking higher? Feel like I have done all I can do. Thanks.

Are they ranking in the generic listings or the map or the paid ads at the top?
I just tried using power washing near me and window cleaning near me. I show up #1 for power washing and #4 for window cleaning. Guess I should have posted this question in the window forum but it’s all the same difference. If it’s an issue or I’m breaking some kind of rule then disregard this post
You rank in power washing because the other guys are not in your town. The window guys are in your town. They also probably have heavy SEO in window cleaning and they probably pay someone to do adsense/words.
So start writing articles on window cleaning and ramp up your SEO.
I am in the same boat I can’t compete with plumbers, but I do good on pressure washing and drain cleaning. All winter I will ramp up The SEO in the website, articles and videos to retain my good positions and to bolster my low ranking plumbing… You have to do this on a continuous basis. If you dont have time or don’t know how you can pay a company 300 to 700 a month to do it for you…
@John_Lange I’m gonna give this guy a shot on Fiverr. 4.9 stars over 253 ratings is worth risking $100 on I think. I think I’m gonna get someone on Fiverr to redo the website too.
I can get SEO, a new website, and a local electronic billboard posting with just my web address on it to boost SEO for HALF of what some of these folks floating around our industry are charging for just a website.

I pay the guys who built my website to do SEO and they did amazing. I’m #1 as far as website rank it’s just the google my business part I struggle with for whatever reason. Like I said the other guys ranking above me have no pictures no reviews and no website. All they did was create a google business thing for free. Is it because of alphabetical order? It can’t be…
I’m not much into websites but I’ve tried for almost 10 years to get the one who did my website to change some stuff. I think the internet is a poor way to build a business.

Google is a nightmare for small service based business. It is to costly, to time consuming, very biased and can really skew a market. It has done more damage to small business owners than any company in existance. It really needs to get out of the advertising business because all it does is screw people and triple their advertising costs… Ok let the hate begin…

Google denies it, but they have window cleaning in their name. It helps a ton.
