I have my first store front job washing a shopping center. I know typically a company would bring their own water however my trailer is not rated too haul the amount of water the job would require. I see that on the back of some buildings their are spigot that must be turned on from the inside. Is it possible I could access that in order to fell up and if so who would I ask? Any help would be awesome!
You can most likely ask the person you talked with to get the job. Most likley they were a supervisor or a manager of some sort, they should help you there. If you have a long enough hose, can you use their water instead of filling your tank? I don’t haul water myself, but I’m sure someone else on here can give you a more indepth answer to your question.
The job is through a 3rd party. I will most likely have to ask around when I get there about a water supply. My main question was is that what other commercial guys do typically. I was just hoping they weren’t going to look at me stupid like “Why don’t you have your own water?”
You know where the job is look them up, get the phone number, call it and ask for the manager. Tell him/her that you are pressure washing the store and you need to know a couple of things. Don’t be afraid to talk to the manager or supervisor, they are people just like you and me. This third party thing, if they didn’t give you an open line of communication to the store itself, then maybe a third party is a bad idea. Just my 2 cents.
Me again. I always make contact with the manager or supervisor that has the authority to make those decisions and is capable of making a payment. Walk in if you have to, just don’t show up and start to ask questions that should have been answered before you get there. That as you say will make you look stupid! And keep your hands out of your pockets…LOL. GOOD LUCK!
Thanks! I’ll call in advance and ask about the water supply. Thanks for your help. That’s the information I was looking for! Hopefully it all goes well.
