Using 3/8” pressure hose for 12v soft washing

Anyone else here using the same hose for pressure washing that they would for a 12v application?
Aside from 3/8” pressure hose being heavier than actual soft wash hose, any other known drawbacks?
I’m a one-man show so I can’t use both the pressure washer and the 12v at the same time. And 90% of the time the 12v is just for concrete post treatment. So in my mind, I already have the pressure hose dragged out due to using the surface cleaner. Once done surface cleaning why not just disconnect hose from pump whip line and connect to 12v whip line?
Only a few times a year do I climb up on a roof to wash shingles.

From all the reading I’ve done here the recommended hose for 12v is 1/2, 3/8 will reduce your distance but if you’re up on the roof dancing anyhow or doing flatwork, it should work fine.
I wanted to do the same exact thing you’re thinking of doing, but I opted for 1/2 flexzilla hose for the 12v.
I’m curious to see what the professionals on here say. If this is a doable setup it may help people save some money.

Disclaimer: Advice given from a dummy who has never washed a roof

I used the 1/2” Flexzilla hose as well, and joined two 50-ft t sections together for 100-ft total. That’s worked for the past year or two, but I’m tired of carrying another hose in the truck bed, and having to roll out then roll up said hose. I have some driveways lined up this weekend with house washes so I’ll see how it works out. Tested well in my driveway spraying just water.

Weight, flexibility, and wear on the more expensive hose. SH might be damaging and then pressure could cause a burst, but not sure. Never tested it.

Hmm. Give it a try and see how it goes. I’d be interested to see how well it holds up. Definitely more durable on the outside but not sure how well it will hold up to hotter mixes running through it. Be sure to flush it really well at the end of every job and it may be just fine.

Winner winner chicken dinner. HP hoses are tubed with Nitrile. Nitrile and Sodium Hypochlorite chemical compatibility is not EXCELLENT

I figured there’s a reason the truck washers all drag around multiple hoses instead of just using one hose for everything.

No they do run low and high ph mixes through their HP hoses having 3 hoses is more for instant chemical selection at the gun

Ah okay that makes sense. Had a guy approach me yesterday at the fuel station to ask if I washed trucks. I think I have most of the physical equipment to do it but I just have no desire to get into that lol I may set up a small trailer and hire a couple guys to do it in the future though. Lots of big trucking companies in my area.

There is a silly amount of trucks out there! Be careful about going down that road lol

That road might as well be a construction zone in Tulsa. It’s to be avoided at all costs lol
